My Daybook . . .

It's finally here . . . officially!!

On my playlist . . . It's the time of year that I'm drawn to beautiful music.  I like to cozy up with a good book, burn a delicious candle, listen to the wind and just...be still.  Nobody does beautiful music like, John Barry.  Out of Africa is one of my favorite movies and the soundtrack is so beautiful . . . enjoy.

I'm thinking . . . I've been thinking about a lot of things this week/month, not all good, not all bad.  I've also had some medical issues that have been on my mind.  Because of that, I have been having blood draws, EKG's, UGE's (the world speaks with acronyms these days) and more blood draws...ouch. I think getting old is not for sissies, but I am thankful for good doctors who take good care of me and work hard to get to the bottom of medical issues.

Outside my window . . .Last night we had a thunder storm with a lot of rain and wind, such a good thing.

I'm thankful for . . . I love to look out my window and see these two . . .

Meet, Valentine and Princess, they aren't our horses, but they feel like our horses, we haven't had our own horses for over twenty years, but, we have had these two beautiful girls in our pasture every year for the past 15 years.  Through the years we've grown to love these girls like our own.  They're getting old, and I'll miss them when they're gone for the winter.

In my kitchen . . . I'm trying to drink less diet soda, and this is my solution . . . definitely not as healthy as plain water, but drinking this once in a while helps me get my water in.  I  like to put my water in a quart jar so I can measure how much I get in each day, plus I think glass keeps water colder.  I call this concoction, peach/coconut water and it's delicious!  Here's the recipe - 1 quart jar, ice cubes, sugar-free peach syrup to taste, sugar-free coconut cream coffee creamer to taste.  Stir and enjoy.  Yes, I know, sugar-free anything is probably not good for you,  and let's not even talk about all the garbage in creamer, but this is so good!  I only treat myself to one of these every occasionally, and it's got to be better than diet soda ;0)

I'm reading . . . A friend of mine was getting rid of a few books, so of course, I took them.   I've just started reading this book and I have really enjoyed it.  I haven't read enough to give it a proper review, but so far, this is a really interesting book.

This is what, Amazon says - Home is a moving and healing book about families, family secrets, and the passing of the generations, about love and death and faith. It is Robinson's greatest work, an unforgettable embodiment of the deepest and most universal emotions.

Just Sayin' . . .

HAPPY FALL!!  Stay safe, XOXO

Hi Barb. For some reason my last comment just disappeared so I will try again. I hope you are feeling better soon and that your doctor can figure things out and get you on the path to health and healing! Yay for friends who pass along good books! I love that. I never say no to a good book that a friend wants to share. Beautiful pictures last night's storms. We had some rain and awesome clouds and a full rainbow down here. I hope you have a good weekend and that you enjoy the fall. See you again soon!

Morning, Barb. I've read your post a number of times because I have lost comments a number of times. I never trust my memory so I have just read through again and two or three things stick out to me.

1. Giving up diet soda-that's because I have had to do the same and it wasn't easy. I'm intrigued by your solution. Mine has been to switch to diet iced tea. Just one a day because I am sure the artificial sweetener is not good either, but as a diabetic, I don't eat or drink sugar.

2. The "borrowed" horses! Now that's the way to enjoy them for sure. They are pretty girls.

3. May all your tests be good reports. It is no fun to become a pin cushion.

Your photos are always stunning. A blessed fall to you!
