Forty-four years and Counting . . .

So after 44 years of marriage, we are still very happy, and very much in love and looking forward to whatever the future holds for us.

I have learned a few things over the last 44 years.  A few things I've learned along the way are:

God and family should always be first in your life, no matter what.

Never let an opportunity to say, "I love you" go by, you never know if you will be able to say it again.

Hug tightly, and often.

We can't always choose our circumstances, but we can chose our attitudes.

I have learned that forgiveness allows me to have peace in my life.

I've learned to count my blessings and remember to feel gratitude for even the small things every  day.  I'm much more at peace by focusing on my blessings rather than what I don't have.

Money does not buy happiness...love and kindness buy happiness.

Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.

I've learned to listen more and talk less (still working on this one!).  I've learned to listen fully, without judgement and with more empathy.

Never take even one day for granted with the one you love, for it may be your last!

And yes...he still takes my breath away...

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Happy Anniversary! Aren’t you two just the cutest! What a sweet picture! I sure wish my ex and I had been able to make the grade. It would have been 42 years this year. Incredible to think about. But we failed. Congratulations to you both for making it. Time and all eternity make all the difference I think! Loved all your thoughts on lessons learned. So very true. Love you to bits! Xoxo
