Saturday Thoughts. . .

It's such a blustery, windy day here in Idaho.  The sky is gray,  and it's cold.  I'm hoping for better weather so that I can work on my yard and garden soon.  How is the weather where you are?

On Wednesday I made bread, it was so good!   I also made some sauerkraut a few weeks ago.  I know, sauerkraut... Yuck!  No, we love it.  a few weeks ago I bought a big bag of shredded cabbage, and I turned it into sauerkraut.  The package had red and green cabbage in it so it looks pink.  It's so easy and the health benefits are amazing  - if you can get past the smell when you open the container! We like to eat a big spoonful with our meals, it really is delicious, helps with digestion, and is full of probiotics.  Last week we had some with German sausage with it and it was such a comforting meal with a baked potato and a green salad.  Not sure what dinner will be tonight, but I think I'll do something with some frozen halibut... I think fish tacos sound delicious!

On Wednesday we went out to dinner with friends.  We always have such a good time with them!  We went to dinner at, Olive Garden and then played cards. I seldom win, but I always have fun.  We like to play Hand and Foot, but sometimes we play, Cover Your Assets, it's fun too!

On Thursday, we had a little graduation party for Averi, (it was pretend, she made it up, and we all went with it)!  We had brownies and ice cream and of course gave her a little gift.  It was a fun night.  I asked her what she was getting a degree in and she said, "being lucky!".  She truly is such a lucky girl to have so many people who love and adore her.

It was my grandson's birthday last Wednesday.  Braedon is married to my granddaughter, and we just adore him!  He's a wonderful, thoughtful guy who always makes me smile.  He's also a wonderful magician!!  He fools me every time and I can never figure out how he did the trick!

No big plans for today.  I just plan on staying inside, out of the wind!  I might work on an art project for a while.  Here's a little sneak peak...

I just started this today, and it will take me a long time to finish this drawing.  You might be surprised when you recognize who this is!  At least my rendition ;0)

I have so much I need to do, but I think I'll just cozy up and do some fun things instead.  I hope you are all doing well and enjoying spring.  I know the weather isn't great in many parts of the country, but it will get warm... Sooner or later.  Have a great day.

Hugs and Love,

Barb

The bread looks good, and sauerkraut is considered a super food that goes with almost anything. We play a lot of cards especially the new game of "cover your ass" which is challenging.

Lots of "Oh Wows" in this post. You, my dear friend have some talents that I didn't know about. Can't wait to see the finished drawing. Little Averie, this is the sweetest and I love how she planned it. And...the bread, a big weakness for me! love me some bread. This looks sooo good. crazy thing about sauerkraut and cooked cabbage. I love them both but the smell in the house after cooking them drives me crazy. I've started cooking it in a crockpot out in the garage. lol. Hope you get some really nice weather so you can get that garden started. Sun is shining here but it is windy. Happy Palm Sunday and I hope your week is full of abundant blessings.

Great post!
I love Averie having her graduation, and her smile sums up her happiness :)
Your homemade bread and rolls look delish! I guess the smell of homemade bread counteracts the smell of fermenting cabbage... **grin**.
It's been absolutely beautiful in our part of Utah... sunny skies, warm days, and lots of blooms.
I feel blessed to know that with each passing day, warmer weather will be here to stay.
Have a lovely day.

Hi Barb! Good to see what you are up to! Happy "graduation" to Averi! The homemade bread and rolls look delicious! You are a very talented artist. I will look forward to seeing the portrait you are working on when you are finished with it. We were in Idaho yesterday, and yes, it certainly was a cold and windy day - but then that's all part of spring in the Mountain West. I hope you have a great week. See you again soon!

Hi Barb! Your bread looks amazing. I can almost smell it. How sweet Averi planned her own graduation and had so much fun doing it. You are blessed having such a close family. It's finally warmed up here a bit and has stopped raining for a few days. The wind has been pretty strong here this spring too. Hoping you are able to get out in your yard soon. Have a great week.

Hello, my friend! What a cozy post this chilly Monday Morning. I love the graduation celebration for Averi and even more so because she planned it. And if we lived closer, I would be at your door asking for some bread and sauerkraut! Happy and Blessed Holy Week!

What fun post. Averi looks so cute in her graduation cap and gown, and I'm very curious to see whose portrait you are drawing.
It's been blustery here too, even though the sun was out and the sky was blue.
I love sauerkraut, but have never made it myself.
