Fun on the Farm . . .

It's been warmer here in Idaho!  Most of the week it was warm enough to sit out on the patio between odds and ends projects, it was so nice to just sit in the sun.  Most of the time we have a pretty brisk wind here, but on Thursday and Friday it was perfect.

On Wednesday, Bob put in a new water softener, I can't tell you how happy that makes me!  Our old one went out a while back, and it will be so nice to have soft water again.

Yesterday, I was busy with a, Daughter's of Utah Pioneers convention, which turned out to be wonderful!  I'm very proud of my pioneer heritage, and keeping their memories alive through stories and photos is very important to me. I have been a member of DUP for almost 20 years, and it's a great adventure!

While I was at the DUP convention, Bob was busy being a grandpa.  Clara had Grandparents Day yesterday, so he was IT.  He had  a fun time having lunch and playing games with the kids at her school.  I'm not sure who had the most fun, Clara or Grandpa... ;0)

Clara also spent the night a few weeks ago.  She loves dinosaurs, so we wanted to take her to a fun dinosaur exhibit at the museum in Idaho Falls.  The dinosaurs were all made of metal, and some of them moved by remote control, or motion detectors, it was very interesting.  I think Clara may have been a little bit afraid of some of them at first, but she loved it.  She wants to be a professor of paleontology when she grows up, and she would be a good one.  She's only 7 but she knew the name of every dinosaur.

We thought it would be fun to take her picture with new technology in front of the display of an old camera shop.

The night before we went to the museum, she wanted to watch, The Wizard of Oz.  I was a little worried, because I didn't want her to be afraid...it can be a scary for little's.  But, she loved it, and was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow...of course she had fluffy teddy bear to cuddle with.

She is a fun, sweet, tender little grand, and we loved having her come and spend time with us.

Clara and Grandpa doing a little four-wheeling in the yard after Brody harrowed the pasture.  It was nice of him to come up and do it.  He's 14, and when they get to be that age, you know you don't have too many more years before they are busy and off to bigger and better things.  He's a wonderful grandson, we love him!

As we get older, we can both see so many things that need to be changed around the house and yard, to make it easier on us, so we have lots of projects planned for this summer.  I hope the weather stays warm so that we can get them done.

The sunsets have been really pretty, and you know me, I just can't resist a beautiful sunset!

Have a wonderful week-end and be safe, wherever you are!

Hugs and Love,

Barb

Hey Barb......It's very hard to be at all the places that we want to be at...especially when it comes to grand-darlings. I know Clara was thankful that her grandpa could make it. I'm guessing that he really did enjoy himself. She is a doll...!!! Don't you just love having them spend the night. Grandchildren are wonderful. I'm with Clara...those big ol' dinosaurs would have scared me! As always, your sunset pictures are beautiful. I'm guessing that they are twice as beautiful on the farm from what they are in the city. Hope you have a great Sunday.....hugs.

Good for you for being involved in DUP I be you have some fun and investing meetings!! I teach the CTR 4's and have a little girl In my class who absolutely loves, loves dinosaurs. She's this cute little thing the youngest of 5 and her favorite color is blue and she is so into dinosaurs, She's gonna be like your sweet Clara. How fun that Grandpa was able to go to her school. With us involved grandmas, sometimes its hard on the Grandpas, I'm glad he had the opportunity. I love when the grandkids stay over. It's such a special time for all of us and the fun, lots of fun and memories in the making!! They are lucky to have such wonderful grandparents to hang out with!! What a little cutie Clara is! Glad that she loves spending time with you. And how cool that Granddad was happy to spend time with her. (I must know a bunch of grumpy ones. 🙃) Good idea about the thinking ahead for ease of living. Believe me, I’m thinking of that myself.

OH my dear friend, I loved this one. Your little Clara is just adorable and I loved reading about the fun things you did with her and of course, the photos were awesome. You are such fun grandparents. I really think it is great that they are near enough to you that you can enjoy great moments with them. I have been happy to have Jenni and her family here so I can have Grandma quality time.
I really have enjoyed our times at your home. You have such a lovely piece of property.
I really loved your thoughts on the DUP. I have been a member for over 20 years. I stopped going while we were on our mission and I need to get back into it for the very same reasons you enjoy it. Of course, I love the sisters that attend too.
This was such a wonderful post and I will need to borrow one or two of these wonderful photos for a future graphic. You are just so good at the photo thing.
Sending lots of loving thoughts and hugs your way!

Barb, how very wonderful that you get to spend such quality time with your grandchildren and what a sweet little girl Clara looks. I love her name. It is nice to see these sweet old names still being used. I have only one granddaughter and I doubt sincerely she or her brother even know who I am. I am so grateful for two sons who make sure that their children have as much contact with me as they can! How wonderful to belong to an organisation such as the DUP. Last year I was very excited to discover that I had a pioneer ancestor, a 63 year old woman named Hannah who pulled a handcart from Winter Quarters to the Salt Lake Valley arriving in October of that same year. I will be 63 on my next birthday and I cannot imagine doing the same thing! What a special group of people they were! Love you and hope you are well! I would love to call you one day so we could talk in person, now wouldn’t that be a treat! Love and hugs, xoxo
