My thoughts for this new year . . .

It's definitely white outside . . . white as snow!  The wind is blowing, and it's really, really cold . . . brrrr!  A perfect way to start the new year, at least in Idaho.

Every year, like everyone else, I think of a few things I would like to change when a new year rolls around.  And, like everyone else (well most everyone), things stay the same.  I've never been good at change, so as I get older, and maybe wiser, I don't make resolutions for the new year, I just try a little harder, to be a little better.

A few of my favorite things right now . . .

The other day we were at my sisters house and  outside of her front door was the cutest little bench, covered with fresh snow . . . so cute!

Two old trays that I hung in my kitchen.  They truly make me smile every time I look at them.

A glimpse at my husband plowing snow in the driveway.  It was so cold, I don't know how he stands it, but he can't stand to have the snow in his way!  It's not my favorite thing to see him out in the cold, but if he's happy . . . so am I!

Have a wonderful week!

XOXO,
Barb

Hi Barb - wow you are inundated with snow up there. It is so pretty to look at in pictures. Arizona winters are nice but my hubby and I were saying just the other day that we miss having snow in the winter. I love those trays - very nostalgic. I love your philosophy about New Years Resolutions. Have a great week and Happy New Year!

Hey Barb.....Happy New Year to you and your family. It looks beautiful around your place. I'm pretty sure that the while fluffy stuff can be a headache at times, but oh how I would LOVE to have some snow here! Seems like forever since it has snowed in East Texas. When I saw the pictures of the trays, my heart got excited. They are so pretty! Hope yall enjoy the snow. I was so excited to see your comment on my post. love visiting with you.

I like your vintage trays. We need things that make us smile. Lots of men are winter boys! Maybe they just enjoy their machines. You folks stay warm and cozy in this cold.

Happy New Year! Looks like we've both been hit with a winter wonderland.
We haven't had the amount of snow we have in a long time. And even though we really need it, I'm ready for spring. We got hit hard last night and I was up at 5:30 snowblowing so I could go to work. Snowplows still haven't been by yet. I love your trays and the darling little mouse picture. I don't set any resolutions either, but I always hope I can be a little better than I was the year before. It's good to see your post and I hope we'll be seeing more of them. Nola

Happy New Year, Barb ♥ I recognize Vera the Mouse! She looks so delighted with the snow. We are due for snow tomorrow night. NC doesn't usually get much but we are due for 4-7 inches. Thankfully we have a shovel and some salt. ♥

Oh the photos are so cute and I loved the cute bench and the trays. You have the cutest decorations in your house and I love how warm I feel when I am there. I am like you, I have given up on resolutions. I had the same list every year with little acoomplished. Now I just want to keep striving to be a little better and do the things that I know are important to do on a daily basis and don't worry about the long list of what I used to think important. Sending loving thoughts your way and stay warm dear friend.

Happy Spring!
