Thoughtful Spot Sunday . . .

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
~Psalm 19:1~

On these beautiful, cold spring nights, the way they still tend to be, with stars shining through the lacy tree brances.  The new leaves are just unfurling; dark shapes against the night sky, but in the daylight they are almost florescent yellow-green.  On these gorgeous clear, spring nights the night skys are usually full of stars!

I can't even imagine what David saw, just think how bright the stars must have been for  him, standing in Jerusalem on a crisp, cool night.  So long ago, there were no competing city lights, only flickering candles and oil lamps.  Where I live, you can still see some of those stars, but the city lights have made some of them a blur, even though we live in the country.

You can often find me in the mountains, star gazing!  And on those nights, I feel like David, looking at the stars against a black velvet heaven.  How can you not believe in God, when you look at the majesty of the night sky?  How absolutely beautiful this world he created is, with such a spectacular backdrop.

Life tends to get so busy that sometimes we forget to look around us at the magnificence of creation!  That's one excellent reason to read the Psalms:  Over and Over they remind me of God's greatness.  Over and over, they remind me to praise.

Glory be to the Lord.  How glorious is His World . . . how beautiful his firmament!

Hugs,

You are so right Barb......I rarely go out and look at the Stars...I think the reason for this is because we live right in town and we just don't have a great view. I love looking at the stars and I hope to be able to do this more often. You have inspired me to do so...even if we have to drive out to the farm! Many Blessings.

Loved this post. My kids and I were outside last evening comparing the stars here and in new Zealand. It was a beautiful site but not as bright as there. Like you we have a lot of city light. But we did enjoy trying to pick out different constellations. BTW love your new picture! Have a wonderful sabbath.

Our only light source at night, is the stars (and moon).......Ahhhhh! I just spent 3 days in Utah and did not notice one star. Love my country life. Thanks for your post, reminding me how great my life is, surrounded by God's masterpieces!

What a lovely post this one is. I loved all of your thoughts. Our Creator is so amazing and how can anyone not believe in Him. I wish that I could view the stars more. Perhaps, I will visit you sometime and we can gaze at the stars dear friend and just feel blessed.
The video is so awesome; I love her voice.
Blessings and hugs for the two of you!

Amen!
Thank you for this great post, and for a sweet and simple testimony of our Heavenly Father.

I feel lucky and blessed to live in a place where star gazing is a regular, nightly event. I remember living in the city, and what I missed the most, were the stars :)

Happy Mother's day to you.
