I'm giving my blog, or should I say, my blog, is giving me one more
chance. I'm not sure why, but since my husband retired, I have had the
hardest time blogging! It's been three years, so I should be used to my
schedule by now, but I really do have a hard time. . .finding my own
time. I can't believe that I haven't posted anything since December!
No promises being made here, but, I really do miss blogging! My goal is to dust off my camera, and start blogging again!
For me, the easiest way to get back into the swing of things, is to post the Simple Woman's Daybook, so here goes:
For Today... March 20, 2015
I'm thinking...Well, March is our birthday month, starting on the 1st, then the 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, and finally the 30th. it's a crazy month, but I wouldn't change a thing, I love celebrating these birthdays, and feel so blessed to have these awesome big and little people in my life!
I am
wearing... It's so warm outside that I decided to break out the capris, so I am wearing denim capris, a dark blue t-shirt, and my brilliant pink shoes!
I am
creating... I am cutting out and sewing, possibility bags. What are possibility bags you ask? Well, they are bags that the youth in my church will carry when they go on a pioneer treck for a week. They can carry a water bottle, lip salve, sun screen, etc., in them. We are making them out of denim, so they are very durable.
I am
going... I'm staying put, it seems like I am never home these days.
I am
wondering... What is going on in all of my blogging friends lives!
I am
hoping... That I can get back into the swing of blogging. My husband gave me a lap top computer for Christmas, so it should be easier, right?
In my
garden... For the last 4 years, our garden has been horrible! This year, my husband took out the old dirt, and replaced it with new top soil. We are hoping that this helps, otherwise we are going . . . green . . . as in grass!
In my
kitchen... I am making homemade pizza tonight for dinner. I just use a very old, and reliable pizza dough recipe that I've used for over 40 years. I got this recipe from my mother's cousin, Opal!
Opal's Pizza Dough
1 1/4 cups warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons oil, (I prefer olive oil)
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
Mix the water, sugar and yeast in a mixing bowl, let stand until foamy. Add the oil and 2 cups flour and mix until combined and smooth. Then slowly add the rest of the flour until the dough is soft, and not too sticky. I use my Kitchen Aid, but I have also made this dough more times than I can count, by hand. Let it rise in a warm place until double; form your crust, put on your toppings and bake in a 375 degree oven until golden brown and delish!

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've go it, you want . . . oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!

See you very soon!!
