More photos...

Well, here I am again....like I promised!  These are a few pictures of our trip on our way to Bryce Canyon...

This is a picture of, Four Corners, where, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona meet at all four corners - I love what it says...."Four states here meet, in freedom under God".

This is, "Mexican Hat", a lovely little place!

Right outside of, Mexican Hat, you all of a sudden come to a dirt road...going straight up the side of a cliff, I kid you not!  When I realized where we were going, I seriously got out of the truck, and had to be bribed back in!  This was perhaps the scariest road I have ever been on!  I was looking out the window, no guard rails, and straight down the side of a huge cliff...for 3 very long miles...with hair-pin turns...it was terrifying!!

We made a quick stop at, Bridges National Park, it was very beautiful, and sometimes hard to find the bridges, as they blended into the surroundings so well!

Can you see it?  You could actually walk down and look at the bridge, but it was freezing here!

Very interesting landscape, and it changed so quickly!  Around every corner was another beautiful formation!

This reminded me of, Easter Island.

The, Mormon pioneers came through this area and settled it.  The pioneers who settled here raised 10 children in this home!

We stayed in a little motel down the road, and the owner told us that her husband's great-grandfather was one of these children.

Again, crazy landscape!

Well, off to bed!  Tomorrow is another long day at the Humanitarian Center!  More later!

Hugs,

Hi Barb, I'm really enjoying your photos! Keep 'em coming. I don't think I'd have had the nerve to be on that road unless I were driving! Hubby would have to knock me out, otherwise. Haha! The Four Corners is a place I want to visit the next time we go out west.

The little house is amazing. How on earth did the mother stay sane with 10 kids and a husband in it? :) I hope the weather was nice enough to keep them outside most of the time!

Have a nice day!

I would love to go to the four corners place. I'd feel like I had really been somewhere.

Love the pictures. That is some crazy landscape. And some crazy barren places.

I love it when you blog; I miss you. What an adventure you had on this one. I am sure I would have had a heart attack on the road you described. I can't imagine raising 10 children in that home. We are so spoiled. When we went to Bryce canyon for our anniversary week; we learned about the family that Bryce canyon was named after. They settled in there and build a small home and had 12 children while they were there. It is such a dry and hot area. How did they do it all???
I had a marvelous conversation with our daughter today. I miss my kids and I miss the two of you too.
Blessings, love and hugs!

Think I'll post a picture of this little house on my refrigerator. It will be a reminder (each time I complain about not having enough space)that I am TRULY Blessed.
I'm with you when it comes to those roads that are TOO scary! I'd rather Walk.
I know this was a wonderful trip for y'all....Looks fun and super interesting.
Hope your day is filled with many sweet Blessings.

You are a better woman than I, for getting back in the truck~~LOL!
{I know I'm getting older, but I'm still too young to die, and rolling off a cliff is not my idea of a peaceful way to go.}

Such beautiful mountains, and rock formations.
Would have been a sight to behold, as our loving Father in Heaven created all this beauty!

The last picture that you posted, is the rock that my family refers to as Hershey Kiss mountain.

Thanks again for sharing.

Smiles :)

Barb,
What interesting pictures! I especially like the one of the little house.

BTW, I wanted to let you know that I was in need of a summer change so I will now be posting at Sweetbriar Cottage. I hope to see you there!

Goodness, I'm glad I wasn't on that dirt road. I would never have made it. Loved all the pictures and like everyone else, loved the little house. How interesting that the motel you stayed at,the owner knew about the picture and that her husband's ggrandfather was one of the children. It's always so fun when we meet people who can elaborate on things a little bit. Nola

I can't imagine ten children and two adults (hopefully) in that cabin. The summertime - okay. But the winter? Wow!

The last trip of the season . . .

Hello!  Well, it's been a week since we returned from the last camping trip of the season.  Can I just say that it's been a whirlw...
