Oh, what do you do in the summertime . . .

We just got home on the 3rd, from a 6 day camping trip with my daughter, Amber, and her family.  It was so fun - good food and good company, what more could you ask for!  Here are some highlights!

Here we are - our little caravan!  Averi and Cole had a good time just hangin' out together!

We are a gun loving family, and these two are really good shots!!  Aren't they cute with their ear protection on . . . safety first!!  Taylor Jo is so cute in pink!

Bob shooting his 45 automatic, can you see the fire coming out of the end?!

This is a beautiful little White Crowned Sparrow that Averi loved listening to! He has such a pretty song!

Averi, listening - she is so pretty!

Full moons and fires!

There are springs everywhere where we go camping, and my husband knows where almost all of them are!  We decided to go get some water one day and this is where we went.  This particular spring has been tapped - it's hard to find if you don't know where it is - and it's so delicious!

Another shot of the spring - with a really creepy face next to it - can you see it?!

Taylor Jo filling up her canteen and my water bottle!  James and Averi making their way to  the spring so Averi can touch the water.

James helping Averi feel the water.  The water was so cold, but it felt good, because it was so hot!

 Christian, keeping us in firewood!

We also let him rest . . . sometimes . . . ;0)  Isn't he handsome?!

Amber and Taylor Jo, chillin' by the fire!

Taylor Jo and Averi having fun in the hammock!  Averi was scared of it at first - but now, she loves it!!

Grandpa having a nap in the hammock!

It is so dry here in Idaho!  We went to to top of a hill to call my daughter one evening, and saw smoke.  We knew it was a bad fire, and sure enough, we found out that this smoke was from a fire near Pocatello, that destroyed more than 50 homes - so sad.  We are a long way from this fire, so  you can tell that it was a big one!

Right behind us was smoke from a fire that was burning in Wyoming - it destroyed thousands of acres - this was a huge fire!

Until next time . . . and it won't be long!

Oh what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you fish in a stream, or lazily dream on the bank as the clouds go by?
Is that what you do?  So do I!!

Hugs,

Welcome back home Barb! You take amazing pictures of God's creation, I especially love the sparrow. It reminds me of that hymn, His Eye Is On The Sparrow. Just as the Lord takes care of the smallest of His creation, He takes care of us. That's so reassuring!

It's very sad about the fires. We got lots of rain the past few months so we haven't had to worry about that, but now it's been really hot and we've gotten less rain, so fires in the Everglades are very possible. I sure hope the Lord keeps us all safe! Have a blessed weekend Barb!

I had so much fun! I am totally stealing your pictures. I really want that one of me shooting the gun so I seem tough. Thanks for all of your help and going with us. We wouldn't want to spend it any other way. Such good memories. Love you!!!!

Welcome home!!

Camping's certainly a wonderful summer activity!

You have a lovely family, and darling grands!!
How wonderful to have time together and make warm memories!!

So sad about all the fires this year!!
Many prayers are being offered on behalf of those folks who have been affected by the wildfires, and of course we continue to pray for moisture.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and the Sabbath.

Warm wishes...
Kerin

I'm back here in Salt Lake and will be till Thursday morning. SoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice and cool at night. So too hot in this valley during the day. Went for a ride today over Big Mountain. Really interesting. Haven't been up there for many a year.

Looks like you had a great time camping with your family and how nice to be away from all the everyday pressures and just relax. Loved the picture of Averi listening to the little bird. It is quite sad to see all the damage these fires have done. Glad you were safe. We have had so many fires here started by people. Finally got a some rain, in fact, quite a wild rain storm a little while ago. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures. Nola

We haven't had much summer time, but a lot of it is enjoying the summer produce and tending my container garden and weeding my new garden and watering. I don't travel. Just went over on the ferry to help my dd who hurt her neck at gym and I'm tired today after that trip. I usually enjoy going to the beach and walking in good weather or getting out on some of the walking trails.

Looks as if you had the best kind of week until seeing the smoke from fires. It's funny about that smoke...it really messes up the air quality even if you are miles and miles away. Hope that you get some relief from the heat very soon.

The last trip of the season . . .

Hello!  Well, it's been a week since we returned from the last camping trip of the season.  Can I just say that it's been a whirlw...
