Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY - October 20, 2011

Outside my window... It's a beautiful Autumn day!  I think our high is only suppose to be around 61 degrees today - that's okay with me, I'm enjoying the cooler weather!

I am thinking... About how much fun I'm going to have this week-end!  Me and my husband, and my sister and her husband, are going to my aunt and uncles 50th wedding anniversary dinner in Salt Lake City.  I'm looking forward to just getting away for a few days!

I am thankful for... Farm fresh eggs - not mine - but eggs that my daughter-in-law brought to me the other day.  They are so good, so much better than store-bought!

From the learning rooms... Learning that sometimes, all you can do for a person is pray for them.

From the kitchen... I just have to say that last night we had, Halushki, the Polish dinner on my menu plan.  It was delicious!  My husband really liked it, he even had two helpings which is unusual for him . . . and wanted me to put some in his lunch!

I am wearing... Jeans and a light blue sweater - and my new favorite barefoot shoes!  They truly feel like you are wearing slippers - I love them!

I am reading... Coral Moon, by Brandikyn Collins.  It's an easy to read mystery/thriller!

I am hoping... That the weather stays nice for our trip!  It's not a long trip, about 300 miles. but we do have to go over a pass that can get kind of nasty if it snows!

I am hearing... Silence

Around the house... Laundry, general cleaning, run a few errands . . . nothing special.

One of my favorite things... A warm bed on a cold night!

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Today - Get things ready to leave in the morning.
Friday - Have fun with sis and her husband.
Saturday - Ditto
Sunday - Church

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Nothing on Earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night.

Those shoes look interesting. I wear my slippers all the time and I keep thinking I should be wearing something with more support. I also love cold nights, I sleep best that way. Polish food is real comfort food. Enjoy your weekend. I haven't heard of that book, I'll have to check it out. I'm reading Laura Childs scrapbooking series.

Barb,

Your shoes are so cute! I love the colors. :)

I've never been to Salt Lake City or Utah either. I hope you take pictures of the big city! I'd love to see them.

Blessings

Sweet Barb! I tried your ham and bean s soup and it was DELICIOUS! Thank you for sharing the recipe with us. The ham steak worked out very nicely since I couldn't find a ham hock. We are having leftovers tonight. :)
