Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY~November 4, 2010

Outside my window... We have had such a mild Fall!  Today, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and the high today is suppose to be around 63 degrees.   These are a few pictures I took last week-end while we were in the mountains - it was so beautiful!

I am thinking... How long it's been since my last post!  It seems like I have been really busy the last month or so.  I miss all of my wonderful friends here in blogland!

I am thankful for... Well, this is the month to have a thankful heart!  I am so thankful for my sweet family, I have been very impressed by the way that they step up to the plate for me and for each other.  I have really wonderful children.  They teach me something everyday!  Plus, they have given me such sweet grandchildren . . . sigh . . .  :0)

From the learning rooms... I am trying to re-train myself to be more productive and make better use of my time.

From the kitchen... Still trying to fix healthy meals.  It's hard this time  of year when you want to eat comfort food.  The holidays will be a challenge for me too.

I am wearing... A pink shirt, jeans, sock and tennis shoes and a gray jacket!

I am creating... I'm going to get my sewing machine out, dust it off, oil it, figure out how to use it again, and start creating!!  I have two new grandbabies due this year, one in March and one the end of April.  One will be a boy and we won't find out what the other one is for at least a month.

A favorite scripture I'm sharing...

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
Psalms 75:1

I am reading... Just got a new book at the library - "When the Wind Blows", by James Patterson.  And, "Black Ice", by Linda Hall.

I am hoping... That my road gets paved this week-end, I'm tired of the dust!

I am hearing... It's pretty quiet around my house today - not much noise.

Around the house... Just the normal everyday household chores!  I have had a busy week, so everything will have to wait until next week!

One of my favorite things... Getting the chance to see my little grands all dressed up for Halloween!   Emily was Tinkerbell and Caleb was the pit stop guy for Lightning McQueen!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Friday - stay home and try to get a few things organized
Saturday - I might try sewing!
Sunday - Church and dinner with my family!

Here's what I'm sharing...

Warm hugs,

Beautiful thoughts, beautiful photos, beautiful music. Calming and bent to quiet meditation on "whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are pure...of good report..." I needed this tonight. Thank you.

Wow, I love Josh Grobin's Thankful. Thank you for sharing. It was so nice to just sit here, close my eyes, and let his beautiful voice and lyrics wash over me. We have so much to be thankful for and I'm sure I do not always show my appreciation. So tonight, Barb, I express my gratitude for your uplifting blogs, becoming my blogging friend and for your kind expressions and motivating thoughts.
I loved your pictures. It looks like you enjoyed a little bit of everything. The weather here is also wonderful and in the low 60's.
Your little grandchildren are adorable in their Halloween costumes. So grateful they are nearby. And now a new little boy will be joining your family. Truly something to be grateful for. Will be anxious to hear about the other one.
Take care. Nola

Hi Barb - I love Josh Groban's music... This one is wonderful!

Your little grandkids look so sweet in their outfits for Halloween, and congratulations on adding two more little goblins to your clan! Maybe one of these days, I'll get some. At least I have a chance now - one of my boys is getting married in April!

Those mountains are beautiful - seems like it shouldn't be time for frozen rain yet, but I guess it is. enjoy those 60's while you can!

I'm so happy that you are having a nice Fall. Here, it has turned into kind-of-icky Nov. weather. :-)

Oh how precious are the Grands, for Halloween! :-)

We blog when it feels best, for/to us. And that's the only Blogging *Rule.* Kinda' that, there is noooooooooooooo Blogging *Rule.* :-) I seem to need to write and put up pics, every day. But that's just me, and no one else has to do the same. Keep doing your Blogging, as it feels best to you, my Dear!

Gentle hugs...

Emily and Caleb are so adorable!! I agree with you, I seem to be just grateful for everything this time of year. I should try to keep it going all year, but it is especially easy this time of year. Love you!

Hi Barb, glad to see you posting! This has been a busy fall for a lot of us and sometimes blogging just has to take a back seat. I sure do understand that.

Love your photos of the trip...that is a beautiful area. And your grands are so adorable, and new grands on the way! How exciting is that? I know you can't wait. We'll be looking for photos, you know. :)

As always Barb, I love reading your simple woman's daybook.
You always share such beautiful photos of places you have seen. Your grandkids look so happy, those smiles are priceless.
I am wanting to dust my sewing machine off too, it might be the first of the year though, as the holidays are coming up and I don't think now is a good time to relearn those things I have forgotten. lol I find as I get older it takes me longer to catch on . lol
Congratulations on the coming of the new grand babies, I know you are so excited.
