Don't forget to scrub behind the ears!

Does he look pathetic or what?!  Yesterday, I decided it was time to give Cole Dog a bath, as he was a very stinky dog!  In fact my new name for him was "stinkus"!  Now, keep in mind that this dog weighs over 100 pounds!  It was too cold to give him a bath outside, so I decided I would fill the bathtub with water and give him a bath in the house - big mistake!  Getting him in the tub wasn't a problem - Cole Dog loves the water, although I'm not sure he loved the peppermint soap or the scrub brush, but he tolerated it pretty good . . . until the getting out part!  As I was letting  the water out of the tub, he escaped!  I'm sure you can picture this soaking wet beast dog, running and shaking all through my house, and me right behind him!  By the time I tackled him with the towel caught up to him, he had pretty much soaked the entire house . . . and me!  But . . .  he is clean, and he smells so much better!  He sat on his bed for most of the day, feeling very picked on . . . sigh. . . gotta love 'em!

Hugs,

I totally can picture it and it makes me laugh....ALOT!! He does look like someone has done some injustice to him. I am glad he smells good and hopefully has less attitude problems today!

Oh...poor baby! I have to admit, he was kind of stinky when he came to spend the night with me. He is so cute! Your title cracked me up because I had just told Taylor that she needs to scrub behind her ears and she swore she didn't need to. I told her to rub her finger behind her ear and then smell it...she did and now she is washing behind her ears every night.

That's a coincidence I bathed our dog named Angel yesterday. She is a small terrier but built like a tubby wombat. Luckily I have a downstairs laundry sink I can bathe her in. I say "wait don't shake" in a pacnicky voice lol as I quickly hoist her from tub and chain her up in a concreted area in our backyard to dry off. If I don't she will go straight to the compost and roll sigh. Your doggie looks a real sweetheart!

Oh my gosh, I can just see him shaking water all over the house running around saying catch me if you can!!

Silly dog I bet you'll be wiping dog hair off the wall for sometime now! HA!

The good news is he doesn't stink anymore!!

Cole looks so sad. Bless his heart! He is a beautiful dog and clean now! I had to read the end of your post twice! I thought you wrote "He sat on his bed for most of the day, feeling very pickled . ." Pickled not picked on! :)

Have a lovely evening!

Oh Barb, I SO know what you went through! We had a huge male chocolate lab that I called "stink-bomb". This was such a well-told tale - I can just see every scene happening. I have been laughing out loud and so did my husband! Just look at that face!

Barb, I meant to ask you: Do you have a pharmacy or K-Mart/Target type store nearby? It seems like these stores are now carrying grocery store items even produce. Maybe you could use coupons there?

Oh my, what a project. I can just see you chasing after him and him shaking to pieces with droplets of water flying everywhere. But, now he smells so nice. Isn't it funny how they show their feelings--kind of pouty and picked on. Thanks for making me chuckle as I pictured all of this taking place. Nola

Oh no, I can see that happening!! I'm sure it was a mess to clean up. I'm glad he is clean now. He looks so innocent in his photo. :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I'm laughing as I read this. Wish I'd been there to video the whole thing.

Hi Barb! I can just picture you chasing the dog all over the house! Sorry, but I had to laugh. This sounds so much like something that would happen to me. LOL!
Enjoy your weekend!

You are one tough lady! I have all I can do to bathe Miss 15 pound Dahli. I am so grateful for the Groomers of the world who bathe them, comb them out, cut their nails, clean their anals and put bows in their hair. I must remember to tip Christina next time we go.

Oh that is so funny. Poor, poor *picked-on* Baby. -giggles-

Well my Dear, that certainly made up your exercise-for-the-day!

Cole is such a funny dog! That's how Bandit and Scout are to!

Oh yes, I get it completely! You didn't shut and lock the bathroom door? Molly gets a bath every week and you'd not believe how tricky it is to bathe a miniature poodle either!

Oh my, I can just imagine that and LOL.
I have had similar moments but not with a big dog. It reminded me that I need to give our dogs a bath too.
Blessings and hugs to you!

About the "Big Red Bug," on our walk. We live right across from a college campus. It's a very un-city-like campus, with lots of open spaces and wooded areas. We walk right up from our house, to the little bridge (will show it soon) and on around paths.

They have many pieces of modern art sculptures, here and there, around the campus. This "Big Red Bug" is the only one I like, as it's the only one, I understand. Modern art and I, are not compatible. -grin-

BRB is a little off a path. But the cat tails and stuff are growing more and more, naturally. And it's getting hard to see BRB, even from the path, next to it. :-)

Poor little sweet doggy face.

I hope he smells better. I can't imagine the "fight" of bathing that pup.
I'm not sure that there is a dog out there that loves a bath.

Hope you have a great week!

That is a sad, I don't want a bath look...sweet baby. I love the painting of the sheep in the post above, beautiful. We are guests at the party for sure! :D

That is that saddest face I've seen in a long time! Laughing at the image of you chasing him through the house. Having to clean up the mess isn't fun, tho. Hope all is well with you.

Happy Spring!
