Random Thoughts on Thursday . . .

Spring is slow coming to my part of the world, and the sunsets are keeping me encouraged!  I love it when the sunsets start slowly moving north, I know that - warm - will soon be here as well.   The grass is green, and it looks warm outside, but looks are deceiving, if you know what I mean... ;0)  Today the wind is blowing...big surprise...not!  We could even get an inch of snow, that's April in Idaho.

Anyone who knows me very well, knows that I have this crazy love for music!  I love all music...well, not all music, but many genres of music make me extremely happy.  Lately, I have been listening to, jazzy, kind of slow, easy, soul songs like this one.   I love, Marc Broussard's voice, although I don't know if anyone can sing this song like, Otis Redding, but Marc comes very close.  I think I also like him because he reminds me of my son, it's the whole full beard thing, and the guitar...enjoy.

I just want to share a couple of things that always make me smile, again, random things, but stuff that makes me happy...

Corgis, I think they are just adorable...look at those ears and those kind eyes!

Faeries, they just make me smile, and seriously, I just sometimes go to that fantasy world where I used to escape as a child.  Did you do that?  Was there just that place in your mind that you wished you could be transported to when you were a kid?  There is just nothing about them that I don't love.

Wild flowers and old fences...I can hardly wait to get the trailer ready to go camping!

Old Farmhouse sinks, it would be lovely to do dishes in this sink!  I like doing the dishes by hand, I think it's really relaxing, it's a good time to daydream.  I can remember doing the dishes in my grandmother's kitchen, looking out the window, smelling the dish soap...Ivory...and it smelled different 50 years ago, I promise.  I loved doing her dishes, I loved that she would dry, and sometimes she would wash and I would dry, it made doing dishes fun.  She stored her dishtowels on a little slide-out bar next to her stove, so when she baked, which was most days, the dishtowels were always warm.

Because it's such a blustery day, I'm stuck inside, who wants to go out in the wind?!  I think I will finish up laundry, change the beds, vacuum, and clean the bathrooms.  That's enough for one day, don't you think?  What I'd really like to do is watch a good movie, or curl up with a good book... ;0)

Not sure what to do for dinner...I have some left over crock-pot chicken from yesterday. it was yummy...here's the recipe:

CROCK-POT MEXICAN CHICKEN

4 chicken breasts (I used boneless, skinless)
2 Tbls. ranch dressing mix
1 package taco seasoning
1 small can chopped green chilies
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup water

Put in the crock-pot in this order, and cook on low for about 5 hours, check it to make sure it doesn't dry out.  We made chicken tacos with it, but it will be good on a salad for lunch or use it for the meat in taco soup, nachos...lots of flavor in this chicken, you could do so much with it!  You could also add some chopped garlic and a little Mexican Oregano to the crock-pot while it's cooking, that would be delicious!

Just a thought to leave you with...I love Kahlil Gibran, he is so wise, and I love his poetry and quotes.  This is one I love...

Heart Battery Fairy Lights

“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”

Kahlil Gibran

Well, if I plan on getting anything done today, I better hurry!

Have a wonderful day, and stay safe sweet friends!

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Barb,
You talk of Spring, but with the snow we received today, I don't see coming anytime too soon. Wishful thinking, though!
My goodness that Corgi is so adorable. That is the kind of dog I have always longed for. I love dogs. I once saw a Corgi/German Shepherd mix and if that wasn't just the cutest dog, ever!
If onions did not absolute make me hurt, I would go for this recipe. It sounds so good.
Hope you have a great evening.
Love from Idaho - Marsha

Well that was a nice way to learn more about you. I would not have taken you for a gal who’d enjoy that music style, but I rather enjoyed it myself. Hope that you are soon off camping because you love it so.

Love those wildflowers and that fence, just gorgeous! A passion wells up in me when I get a chance to photograph this amazing world we live in. Mountains, waterfalls, desert cactus, the ocean... I tend to view things like I'm looking through the lens of of a camera. :)

You guys are having some crazy weather! My son said they had a hail storm and then the other day a snow storm with giant flakes. We are also having winds. Oh how I'm not a fan of the wind. I think its adorable that you find washing dishes relaxing haha, I find laying in the sun relaxing, or quilting with music playing. Neil Diamond is my all time favorite music. I can totally get lost in my own little world listening to him. The field of flowers is so pretty. My husband is getting the camping bug thats something I need to do today is get the camper cleaned and the sheets washed. Our son and wife stayed in it when they were here while we were dealing with the basement flood . That was a while ago and I still haven't cleaned it. Well my friend you have a great weekend!!

That is such a lovely quote. I must try that recipe; it sounds easy and yummy.. I always love your cooking so I know if you made it; it is a good one. Spring is slow in coming. We had snow on Thursday then continued cold and windy. Then this afternoon it was nice again and tomorow we are back in wind and snow. I really can't wait for it to just be warmer.
I loved your music choice. You have some great likes. That dog is a cute one. Faries are aweosme. I love wild flowers too and long to take a drive in the country to see them when spring actually comes. .
Oh, I do love a farm sink. I remember that doing dishes by hand was very relaxing. I haven't done that for a very long time.
As always, I love your blog posts and I really love you dear friend. Thanks for all your thoughts on my post. We should hae a phone conversation once in a while. I'm sure we could talk forever. I love that daughter of yours and mine. She is such a delight. I could visit her forever. We had such a good time when they were down. It was so fun to just visit for hours without technology; it was perfect.
Hope you have a really sweet week! You are such choice friends and I am sending you lots of love and hugs!

We are enjoying beautiful “summer” weather here in the Spring. It could be the only summer we get, as often turns out to be the way! Let’s hope not! I, too, love wildflowers, corgis and fairies. I used to paint fairies. Maybe I need to do some more. Most of all I love all you share. You have such a beautiful heart. Love you to bits! Xoxo

Happy Spring!
