When Storm Clouds Gather . . .

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Isaiah 43:2

We had just gotten home from a wonderful camping trip in July, when my husband called for me to come outside to look at this storm that was approaching.  It was a crazy storm with violent winds and pelting rain . . . very scary.

I cannot even imagine what all the people in Florida are dealing with right now, but, I know how frightened I was when I saw this storm cloud, so they must be absolutely terrified!

Today, Lord, let me be grateful for the comforts in my life.  Let me savor the cold water that runs out of my tap.  Let me grumble less about all the little things in life that bother me, like being too hot, or too cold.  Let me be grateful for the pleasure of stepping out of the heat into a cool home, with plenty of food, dry clothing and a warm bed.  I may have trials, but please, let me remember and pray for all those who are struggling right now, that they might be comforted by thy hand.

Today, let me give some thought to the trials I don't have.

Dear friends, please pray for, Florida, and all those in harms way.

Hugs and Love,

Barb

What a lovely post this is. I love your grateful heart and uplifting thoughts. It is frighening to listen to all the news of the diasters and we must pray for all of those displaced families and indivuiduals. One positive thing that comes from it all is that people genearlly reach out more and help each other. I think that it helps humble people to be more receptive to an invitation to come unto Christ. Love you and loved this! Hugs~

Hey Barb.....Storms can sure be scary and I'm definitely not a fan of lightening. In the same way that the storms of weather are scary...the storms of life can be just as scary. Thank Goodness, that God is always here to calm the storms. Sam and I are in Florida right now, with 5 of our very good friends. I've been a bit scared about Hurricane Irma, but Hopefully, we are in an area that should just get the outskirt rains and winds of Irma. This post has reminded me that even though my surroundings seem uncomfortable and scary right now....God is with me.
