Feeling the cold . . .

This is what I would like to be doing, sleeping and staying nice and toasty in my bed!  I have to say that I have been sleeping late though.  I will be happy when I am finally feeling like myself.

It's been freezing cold here for the last week.  Most of the schools have been closed for the last two days, and from what the weatherman says, we haven't seen the end of it.  I know that most of the country is experiencing the same, or worse, so I'm not really complaining . . . :0)  I hope that everyone is hunkered down staying home and staying warm and dry.

When I look outside, it's very deceiving, the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful warmer day than it actually is.  Right now, it's 5:07 p.m. and my phone is telling me that it's -2 degrees.  Brrrr!

The sunset is beautiful tonight, I love sunsets in winter.  How can that beautiful orange glow in the sky be so cold?!

I have been wearing my fuzzy slippers today . . . so my feet are nice and warm.  We are having left-over chili for dinner, that will warm me up as well!  I'm just trying to debate whether to have it with baked potatoes . . . I think that sounds like a good thing.

I still have my Christmas decorations up, do you?  I plan on taking them down tomorrow, hopefully I will be feeling a little better.  I have my little pine trees in an old trunk with snowmen around the bottom.  I think I will leave them up through January.  I like having twinkly lights at night.

Just wanted to leave you with a warm cozy song by, Elizabeth Mitchell, one of my favorite children's folk singers . . . happy Friday.

XOXO,
Barb

Barb, those slippers do look cozy! I hope it warms up for you soon. -2 does not sound comfortable! It started snowing her around 4 pm and it is still snowing. It will be interesting to see what happens. We are used too snow in NJ but they do plow the roads. I don't think they plow the roads here. xo

Hi Barb, I'm Melanie. I've enjoyed looking through your blog--lovely pics! Somewhere I ran across a recipe for chocolate pudding but don't have a clue where to find it. Could you help? I'm totally craving chocolate pudding. Thanks :) Oh, and stay warm!

Hello Barb!
Your space here is so warm and cozy!
Your dinner sounds perfect for a cold winter night.
I do still have Christmas up!
The kids really hate to take it down.
Like you, I plan on leaving some cozy snowmen and twinkle lights up through the winter.
I just love this time of year, Inside, that is!
Hope you have a cozy weekend. : )

That is a cozy first graphic...makes me want to go to bed early. Yes, Christmas comes down tomorrow, but I have already been decorating for winter. I still need some lights and sparkle. That second photo of the bench beside the red barn wall is just wonderful...love it!

Hi Melanie!

At the top of my blog you can do a search, just type in, chocolate pudding! If you are on a phone, you need to be in the web version to use this feature. Thanks for stopping by!

I love that sweet graphic! You know I love kitties! Have one on my lap now which makes it rather difficult to type. lol! Love the shadows on the barn and the pretty sunset, too.
Hope you feel better soon, Barb, stay in and stay warm. We are getting down into the single digits at night here which is much too cold for me! My tree will hopefully come down tomorrow, too, if I'm feeling up to it. The dizziness has subsided for the most part, but I'm still all stuffed up with my head feeling yucky. Take care! xx Cheryl

I can't sleep when it is too cold. With temperature at -2 deg C, it must be freezing cold. I love the sunshine song. Do keep warm, Barb!

Hope you are feeling better very soon. I have heard about all the snow and cold temps in your "neck of the woods." Do stay in warm and cozy and enjoy your weekend! :-)

Those slippers look super comfy! And I vote for the potatoes - leftover chili on baked potatoes is one of my favs. Stay warm.

Barb...I do hope that you get back to feeling better (all better), soon. Yes indeed, I still have my Christmas decorations up. I was kind of a scrooge this year and didn't get them up till way late and since Christmas I have been back to myself so the decorations are staying up. I'm actually watching Hallmark Christmas every evening, too. I hope you enjoyed your warm chili with potatoes. It's so cold here I'm about to put my house on skids and pull it south for a month, or so. Have a super week!

Oh Im hearing ya! I just spent a week in Idaho visiting my grandsons. Holy cow, so glad I brought my warm fuzzy slippers - The boys and I did play in the snow and their endurance was greater than mine. Although bundled up, after an hour or so I was ready to go in, but they weren't having it. That's boys for you haha. WE just got dumped on today with a bunch of snow and it's still snowing. Im hoping for a snow day tomorrow so I can be home and contemplate staying in my jimmies or lounging in bed!
Stay warm

Oh, my dearest friend, I feel sad I haven't read this one until today. I do hope you have stayed warm and cozy. I always love learning about what you are doing. Believe it or not, we still have the decorations downstairs to take down. Hopefully, that will happen this P-day.
I loved your cute slippers and I love being in a nice warm cozy bed and find it very hard to get up early these days.
Just know you are greatly loved by me dear fiend and may we have some moments in the coming year. Blessings, love and hugs for you two!
