My Daybook . . .

For Today . . . December 2, 2016.  Where did the time go?  I can't believe it's already December!

Outside my Window . . .  We have snow, not much, but it made the ground white!  It's cold as well, with highs only getting into the 20's.  I do love it when it snows, I just don't like slick roads, but I'm safe and sound in my warm house so I'm happy.

I'm Thankful . . . I'm very thankful for all the blessings that I am given each day, but especially for my family, my friends and my faith.  Each one of these things keeps me putting one foot in front of the other when I wake up each morning.  I'm also thankful for each of you, for all you share,  and the smile you put on my face each time I turn on the computer!

I'm Creating . . . Oh, I have big plans, I promise . . . but not right now . . . :0)  On the other hand, look what my kids gave me for my birthday!  They had it "created" for me, and I love it!  It's a book of  the first year of my blog  I cherish it!

I'm Going . . . I'm going nowhere if I can help it!  But, I am going to show you a few more photos from our river trip . . .

Bob caught the first fish, I was sorry to see that he wasn't very happy about it . . . ;0)  It was a big one, 31 inches, 14 pounds!

I walked down to the river one afternoon and took a picture of the river - so pretty!  I miss it already!

This is a picture of our camp.  There were four couples, boy, did we have fun!

I call this, Indian Head Rock.  Can you see why?!  Every morning I would look at it and smile as he sat on the hill with his, pine tree feather.  I like to think that he was watching over us while we were there.  And yes, the sky was that blue!

And this huge rock, looks like a rabbit - Rabbit Rock!

While we were there, we had a super moon, it was so beautiful!  I love it when I can see the moon in the daytime, and then again when the sun goes down.

This is a picture of 5 of the 8 fish that were caught on this trip.  We split them up so that each couple took home 2 fish.  My husband loves to smoke them, and they are delicious.  We also like to keep some just to broil or grill.  Yum, Can't wait until next year!

One day after we got home, I looked up at the sun and saw this . . . a ring around the sun.  I think it means a storm was coming.  We did have a little bit of a cold front come through the next day, but I thought it looked kind of cool.

I'm Wondering . . . While I am typing this post, I'm listening to Christmas music on,  The Mormon Channel, and wondering why I don't listen to Christmas music all year long, it's just so beautiful!!

I'm Hoping . . . I'm hoping like everyone else, that I can hurry and get my Christmas shopping done! I love shopping for people I love, but I'm always so happy when it's wrapped and under the tree.

I"m Remembering . . . Many years ago, I was in charge of a Christmas program at our church.  That same Christmas, our sweet, Averi, was diagnosed with a life threatening illness, so I had to turn it over to someone else.  This sweet couple took it over, and I heard it was wonderful.  A few years later, he passed away, suddenly, at a fairly young age, we were all devastated.  He had a wonderful voice, and sang in a local band.  This was one of the songs that his wife told me he always sang at Christmastime to his children, while he played his guitar. . . I can't hear it without thinking of him.  He is missed.

In the Kitchen . . . I have ham and beans cooking away on the stove.  It just sounded like that kind of day.  I might get busy and make a batch of rolls to go with it.

A favorite Quote for Today . . . I can so Identify with this quote!

"I go to nature to be soothed and healed,
and to have my senses put in order."
~John Muir~

XOXO,

Barb

The rock formations out there are very cool. The fish are even beautiful. Glad that you all enjoy them and look forward to the treat. I'm going to listen to Glen sing that song. I think I remember it... Is that ring around the sun called a sun dog? I'll have to look it up. I had a friend in Manitoba who often shared photos like that. I have never seen one except in photos.

I called the ring the wrong thing and wouldn't want anyone to look THAT up! Good grief!

Oh, you will treasure your blog book. I know I treasure the one my children gave me.
Next time you come my way, I'll need to show you the elephant rock up by the reservoir.
Bob's fish is huge...that will make some yummy eating, for sure!
All your photos are super but that daytime moon photo was tops.
