Christmas Home . . .

It's finally starting to feel like Christmas!  Last night it started to snow, and this morning we woke up to maybe 1-2 inches.  It's not much, but it makes me feel like it's time to start celebrating!

My husband and I put up the little trees in the old trunk . . . I guess I could call it a . . . tree trunk?!  I love the look of it, and it doesn't take up as much room as my big tree, which will be put up and decorated downstairs.

I have a small snowman collection, which I treasure, so I put them under the trees.  Some of these snowmen were given to me by very dear friends. A few of  those special friends have passed, so it makes these little snowmen, even more special to me.  At one time, I had a very large snowman collection,  but I cut back, and now I only have those that have a special meaning to me.

As I get older, I find that it's not necessary to do as much decorating as I used to do.  But, I still like to put lights on my old hutch, it just makes my dining room feel cozy and warm.

Another favorite of mine is my little Christmas church that my daughter gave me, it just makes me happy to see that little candle glowing through the glass.  And I would never forget to have Santa's watch where all my little grands can check it, to find out the exact hour that Santa will make his big appearance at their house!

And last, but definitely not least, my old nativity.  I have had this little Nativity set for at least 35 years, and I never get tired of looking at it and remembering that this is the reason for the season.  It can sometimes get lost in the hustle and bustle of shopping and planning.  But, it's important for me to stop and reflect on Christ, and make sure that while I am busy preparing and doing, that I am also, preparing and doing the things that I need to do, to keep that very special spot in my heart just for Him, on Christmas Day . . . and every day.

I hope everyone is having a safe Christmas season.  I see so many tragic things happening around the country and pray that you are all safe and sound.

XOXO,
Barb

Barb you home looks so warm and inviting. You did a wonderful job of decorating and I love that your snowman collection all have their own story it truly does make them special and a treasured gift. Have to say, I have the exact same Nativity set that I've had for at least 30 years. My angel wings broke so I taped them with duct tape and it's still holding up after all these years. Now every year when I see mine I'll be thinking of you!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Barb - your home looks so Christmasy and cozy! I love it! We have also simplified our Christmas decorations and it makes the holidays more enjoyable, I have found. Decorating can become overwhelming! Hope you have a great holiday and that you are staying warm in all that white stuff I hear you have been getting up there in Idaho!

I pray you will have a safe and happy Christmas season. You and Bob are greatly loved by us.
Enjoy the precious moments with your family and of course with the family we share. Take lots of photos. Love and hugs for you!
