And just like that . . . it was over . . .

Christmas this year just seemed to come and go so quickly.  I was diagnosed with pneumonia around the middle of December . . . and that was that.  My Christmas cheer went out the window, along with all of my energy.  I am feeling better . . . except for the energy part. . . I still take naps ;0)

My husband and I like to spend Christmas Eve with our children and grand children, and then, let them spend Christmas Day at home with their children.  If the weather is good we will go visit them on Christmas Day, and if not, we all spend the day cozy and warm in our own houses . . . making memories.

This year we decided that we would all go to my sons home, and as you can see, no one had any problems finding the food!  Isn't it funny how we always seem to gather in the kitchen!

Clara and Tanner, doing what kids do!

Something was either funny . . . or yucky, not sure which!

After we got home on Christmas Eve, it started to snow, and it snowed, and it snowed!  Twelve inches later, we were pretty much snowed in on Christmas Day!  Bob shoveled enough off of the back step so Cole could find the step to go outside. It was very deep, and he doesn't do . . . deep.  It was perfect for Christmas, watching the snow fall was just fine with me . . . it was a beautiful day.

A friend of mine gave me this beautiful Amaryllis for my birthday in November.  I was so excited to see what it would look like.  This one had at least six beautiful blossoms.  In this photo there are three, two in the back and one in the front.  I think it's about done with it's blooming, but I have enjoyed it sooooo much!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  I hope you were all filled with the love and peace that the season brings, and are looking forward to the new year, with hope!

XOXO,
Barb

Barb, so glad to know that you are feeling better even if your energy is not as perky. I still take naps and I haven't had pneumonia. Let's not imagine what that might mean. Ha!

Your son has a lovely home...that kitchen is amazing! It looks as if it is a great place to gather. Cute grands all right. Your grandson looks as if whatever-it-was was funny and your granddaughter looks as if it was yucky. Too cute!

Hi Barb - looks like you had a wonderful holiday! So glad you got to get together with your kids and grandkids before you got snowed in! Too bad you got pneumonia - been there done that - last year in fact. Pneumonia is no fun for sure. It zaps your strength and energy. Get well soon. Your grandchildren sure are cute. Have a very happy New Year!

Barb.....Glad to hear you are feeling better, for the most part. We had a lot of sickness for Christmas, too. Our daughter was pretty sick so she couldn't drive home for Christmas. Her first Christmas away from home.
How fun to be able to go to you sons home and spend some family time during Christmas.
Wasn't this bout of snow crazy. I loved having all the snow for Christmas.
Wow, I love your Amaryllis. I've had one for at least 6 years and for the life of me, I can never get it to bloom. What's your secret?
Take care, my friend and keep on keeping on that road to getting your health back!

I feel so sad I didn't know that you had pneumonia. I could have sent more prayers your way.
It looks like you had a sweet Christmas Eve with family. I kind of wish we could have been snowed in. I like the idea of no place to go on Christmas.
I loved all your lovely photos.
Have a wonderful New Year's eve and New Year celebration even if you just stay home.
Have a blessed New year and I am sending love, hugs and prayers your way. Love you much dear friends!

Hi Barb! I'm sorry you were so sick, but happy to know that you're feeling better now. My hubby and I were sick before Christmas and our son came home with a stomach virus just beginning, so he stayed reclined on the sofa most of the time! Fortunately, he was able to stay a few days and was feeling better before having to go back to the city where he lives. We haven't had much snow yet, but it has sure turned cold today! Brrrr! I don't do cold very well. It's a good day for napping, but I have to run to the Big Town and return some things and pick up my daughter's payroll for her. I enjoyed seeing your photos...your son has a beautiful kitchen. I also loved seeing all the caps the men were wearing...my hubby usually has one on, too! :) The amaryllis is gorgeous! I know you enjoyed having it.
Happy New Year to you, my friend!
Hugs,
Cheryl
