Breaking some Bad Habits . . .

I have some really bad habits that I'm working on breaking . . . not as bad as you think, but they are stopping me from progressing, and I don't like it!

The first one that went away is, Facebook.  I know, I know, Facebook is wonderful . . . for those who can look at it once a day and put it down.  Apparently, I'm not that person!  It draws me in, makes me forget about all the things I need to accomplish, and that's not good.  I do have a few friends that live far away that I love to connect with, but I can do it in other ways . . . Facebook has become so negative, and there is enough negative in the world, I don't need to bring it into my home by my own doing. Deleted!

Procrastination!  That is the other habit I'm going to try to nip in the bud!  I have so many projects that are half finished, or not even started, that I need to work on - not being on Facebook will help. Does anybody else have that problem?  Wish me luck!

Better eating habits - that's going to be a hard one, as you can see from the picture above... :0)  Now come on, zucchini bread isn't that bad!  I really need to eat better, or should I say, pay closer attention to what I'm eating, and where it's from.  I read an article recently about all the food that we get from, China.  This food, especially chicken and fish,  is not processed the way it should be and can be very contaminated.  We need to stay away from any food that has been processed in China!  This is the link to the article, it's pretty scary.  I just think that being a little more aware about where our food is coming from is a good thing, even if we have to spend a little more to purchase it.

The last habit, but truly, I have way  more than three bad habits!  But, this is one I really want to work on . . . getting to bed earlier, and getting up earlier!  I'm a night owl, always have been, but I feel like as I get older, I need more rest, not necessarily sleep, but more rest, (that means I can go to bed and read...). I usually get up around 8:30, because I didn't get to bed until long after midnight, this needs to change.  I love to get up early and get things done, so that will be a habit I will try to commit to.  I love to hear other people talk about getting up early and getting things done!  They have more energy and sleep better at night, a big plus!

Have a wonderful week-end sweet friends, I will be working on my bad habits!!

XOXO,

Barb

All the best with your new habits. I have a few habits that need changing, too. That getting to bed at a decent hour for starters.

Isn't it wonderful that it is never too late to change :)
We just talked about that today, as we are trying to be healthier too!

Luckily, I am an early bird, but I have insomnia.....trying to fix that!!

Have a great conference weekend!!

Good luck on all of those! Very worthy indeed. I have found that if I don't get to bed by 9:00 I can't function. I do get up at 4:30 to be to work by 6:00.

Your pictures are so beautiful. Isn't Idaho wonderful?

Hmmmm, with the exception of Facebook, which I've never done, I can use your list for myself. You need to also make a list that shows all your good qualities, which I am sure are many!

If it wasn't for the fact that facebook is the only way I can stay in touch with whats going on in my children's live I would get rid of facebook also. (sad but true) I read that article on Chinese products and it was something which I had felt strongly about for a very long time. I try as much as possible to avoid anything from China, which is becoming increasingly more difficult. I read labels and I don't buy junk from the dollar/bargain types of stores. It is all Chinese Tat. We are pumping their economy full of our cash and our jobs are disappearing. It is to our own detriment that we support an economy which builds its wealth upon the backs of the poor and greed. They quite simply don't care, not about their own people and sure as heck not about ours. They have no standards. Remember the melmac in the baby milk scare they had a few years back, and they throw their children away like garbage. I know that is generalising but . . . sorry will get off my soap box now! I am up by 5:30 every morning, which means that I am more than ready for bed by 9 PM! I am at my sharpest in the morning! Enjoy conference! xoxo

Hi Barb, it's good to "see" you again! I've missed my blog friends while on break. You are not alone in the procrastinating department! Except for Facebook which I don't do, the bad habits you named are also mine. I stay up way too late and need to get more rest. I love your pretty sky photos and that banana bread looks yummy. Hope your weekend has been a nice one! xo Cheryl

I'm a night owl too but get up at 5:30 AM every day to get everyone on the house going, lol. It is super scary to see what's in our foods I've been working on eating better too. Zucchini bread however looks quite tempting, lol! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Blessings,
Jill

Oh Boy! I am right there with you on this post. I also need better eating and sleeping habits, I can get to bed at a decent hour the problem is I automatically wake way to early like 5am Which I don't mind but when its 3am its irritating, I know myself well enough to know I will not fall back asleep. If I had the energy to stay awake and have a productive day id be ok but I usually am falling asleep around 2 or 3 not good. and the eating habits ill be honest I LOVE food lol I could never diet but I do need to add better food to my diet. not good when you love to bake. well you have inspired me to at least eat an apple today. its a start : )

Hi Barb - I love this post! I need to improve in these areas too. I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I love seeing posts about my grandkids and friends and keeping up on the lives of people I care about, but boy it can sure suck me in too, and then there is all the political stuff at this time of year that makes some people turn not very nice. I need to get in bed earlier too and am going to work on that! Enjoy what's left of the week!

Happy Spring!
