What have I been doing?!

It's hard to believe that it's been over a month since my last post - time goes by so fast!  We've been busy, busy, busy, and I don't think it will slow down anytime soon.

The middle of April, we went on our annual anniversary trip  . . . 42 years!  Again, can I just say that time goes by too fast?!  We decided to go back to the Salmon River.  It's always a little warmer there, as the elevation is just slightly less than where we live.   We were not disappointed, it was gorgeous!  We were there four days and the weather was perfect, middle 70's the entire time, I even got a little bit of a sun tan.  We just relaxed, sat by the river, watched the geese and ducks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

It was still kind of early for most campers, so we were the only ones there most of the time.  Our friends decided to come up for two of those days, so that made it even more enjoyable!

The evenings were warm enough to have a camp fire . . . oh how I have missed camp fires during the cold winter months!!

There were resident geese and wild turkeys in this campground.  The geese were wild, but the wild turkeys were very tame  . . .

This is the hen, and she would almost run over you if you had a handful of peanuts or a piece of bread.

This is the Tom, doesn't he look prehistoric?

The Tom was a little more suspicious of us, so he stayed back until he realized he liked peanuts!

Doesn't he have a face only a mother could love?!  Even so,  I thought he was just beautiful!

He loved showing off for us. . . :0)  Maybe I should of been afraid, I've heard they can be really mean, he was a sweetheart.

These two Canadian Geese would just strut around and act like they owned the place!

We stayed on the Salmon River for four days and then moved to the, Mackay Reservoir  . . . that's for another day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers and grandmothers out there!  I love you all!

This my own sweet mother, I love her with all of my heart!

Mother, the ribbons of your love are woven
around my heart.

What a beautiful getaway! Sitting by the river watching the water flow by, campfires watching the flames lick and lap in the night air, and then to have friends come for a visit...all perfection. Your mom is a pretty lady. I hope that she and you have a beautiful Mother's Day.
