A Peek into my Week . . .

Something from My Playlist . . .  Just because . . . you all know my love for oldies.

Mother Nature . . . Mother Nature is really being a pest!  Yesterday we had beautiful weather, temps in the upper 40's and 50's!  In fact the weather was so nice yesterday that my husband went golfing! Today, it's cold, windy, cloudy and rainy.  I know that others are not so lucky, and they are in my prayers.  I can't imagine being in a tornado, it must be terrifying.   I am so grateful that there weren't more casualties, and my heart breaks for those families who lost loved ones.

On my Mind . . .

If you have read my blog, you know that I rarely talk about my religion or politics. That said, I am absolutely ashamed of the way that the politicians in our country are acting!  The vulgar language, of especially one of them, is outrageous!  The only one running that I would even hope to be the next president doesn't even have a chance, because he is too respectful.   I am very disappointed that out of all the people in the whole,  Untied States of America . . . this is the best that we have to offer, what a shame.   Nuff said.

In a Nutshell . . .  I have had a fairly busy week, lots of running around, and one day of not feeling well.   I guess that's just the way it is, and life goes on.  I always get in the spring cleaning mood this time of year, especially when the sun starts to shine, and the weather warms up . . . I need to get busy before it goes away!

The last 4 years, my garden has just been horrible, so we are going to plant the garden spot into grass. I am trying to decide whether to build a few raised bed, or plant in pots.  We are gone a lot in the summertime and I'm not sure that pots would get the water they need.  It's a hard decision, because I really love having a garden, and would miss the fresh vegetables.   What do you do?

The other night, I was getting ready for bed when I got this cute video on my phone.

This grandma's heart was very happy!  This boy is a such a little sweetheart, I love him too!

Dreaming About . . .

Recycle and re-purpose a Old Filing Cabinet... | Just such a transformation! It definitely stands out and is a fun, new, unique piece...Check out the full step by step instruction:

I just love this idea! My file cabinet looks just like the top picture . . . it needs a make-over!  I could not find the link, but I think it's so fun!

Fairy Lanterns with Tutorial - Nichola Battilana. If you didn't want to order the cutouts, I'm sure they could be made on cardstock or paper. I love this and I'm giving it a try!:

I love anything whimsical and pretty, like this cute lantern.  I found the idea here.  I think it would be very cute to put on the patio . . . so cute!

My husband loves pickles, we buy lots of them.  The other day we were at the grocery store and bought a jar of pickles.  We brought it home and put the pickles in the pickle keeper in the fridge.  I was going to throw away the jar, but when I looked closer at it, I realized that it was the most wonderful color and shape!  Take a look . . .

I love the color of this jar, it's kind of blackish/green, and I even like the shape.  Oh, the possibilities! I can't wait to buy more pickles!  And the crate it is sitting on will be my new foot stool.  I just need to cut the plywood and get the foam rubber, as I already have the perfect fabric.  I will show it to you when I am done . . . this is what the crate looks like.

I took a brush and brushed off all the dust and loose particles, then vacuumed it, and scrubbed it good with cleanser.  After it dried, I took lemon oil and a colored oil and went over it, just to bring out the printing on it.

I love the warning, I hope I don't go to jail!!

This side says, Creamland - Albuquerque.   I bought the crate for a dollar at a thrift store.  It was full of old chains and some tools.  I took those out and asked the clerk if I could just buy the box.  She looked very puzzled, kind of laughed and told me I could have it for a buck!  I was very happy!

Better run, my husband wants to go to dinner . . . can't pass up a deal like that!

Hugs,
Barb

I hope you had a great dinner with the hubby of yours.
Weather here is just like there; except you might be a few degrees colder. I think the weather is in confusion right now.
Politics are beyond me now. How dumb are Americans? I shouldn't say that; but it is very disgusting. I feel like there is going to be no one to really vote for; enough said.
I love your music; I like oldies. The one from your phone didn't show up for some reason.
The pickle jar shape is cute. I will look forward to seeing your finished project with the crate. You are so creative. I don't know why I didn't get a talent in this area. My Mom used to refinish and make things all the time. At least a couple of my daughters are very creative and do some fun things.
Well, my dear friend have a wonderful Sabbath day tomorrow. Just know you are loved by me. Hugs~

Hi Barb - I can't wait to see what your new footstool looks like. Amen and amen about politics this time. I am sad to say that I think we are by and large getting the kind of politicians we deserve and that isn't saying much about our country or society just now. Things just keep sliding downhill....I don't think the candidate I support has much of a chance either, but I will vote for him anyway. Have a good week.

I am more hopeful than I have been in a very long time regarding politics. The best thing we can do is pray and ask God to lead. I like that file box redo!

I love LOVE peeking into your weeks Barb! I find American Politics very scary at the moment! Who do you vote for? Donald Trump seems like a real (sexist, bigot, racist, etc.)wacko and Hilary Clinton is a liar. How sad that they are the front runners. I will look forward to seeing your new footstool! Love the pickle jar and your grandson is a treasure. You are so very blessed! xoxo
