My Daybook

For Today... April 7, 2015
Outside my window... We are having typical April weather, warm one day, snowing the next!   Right now, it's partly cloudy, about 53 degrees.  In an hour or so, we are suppose to have a rain and snow mix . . . we need the rain so, let it rain . . . or snow!

I am thinking...We are going to go help with a community clean-up in about an hour.  It's always a fun night, some folks walk along the road and put the trash in garbage bags, others (me and my hubby) drive around and pick up the bags.  Then back to our beautiful community park for hot dogs, chips and cookies.  Who would not like to spend the evening making their community a more beautiful place to live!

I am thankful... Today, for living in a good community with good people.

I am wearing...Just getting ready to change from a t-shirt, to a nice warm sweater!

I am creating...Still working on possibility bags!

I am going... Tomorrow, I'm going to lunch with my mother and sister.  This is a time I really cherish.  I'm not sure that my mother will be able to get out for much longer.  She really likes to get out of her apartment, but walking is so difficult for her.

I am wondering... I'm watching the news, so I'm totally wondering, what in the world our world is coming to!

I am hoping... For peace . . .

In my kitchen... Please give me some ideas for my kitchenI have lots of ideas, but not much ambition!

A favorite quote for today...

A pessimist sees only the dark side of the clouds, and mopes; a philosopher sees both sides, and shrugs; an optimist doesn't see the clouds at all — he's walking on them.
~Leonard Louis Levinson~

A peek into my day...

On our way to the park to start the community cleanup . . . not looking good!

almost there . . . really not looking good!

We made it!  We better hurry!

On our way to pick up trash bags . . . to be continued . . .

Hugs,

How wonderful that your community gets together and has a 'clean up'. It's a wonderful way to foster community good will!
We have a city clean up... but, we don't work together... boo!

I do hope you have a wonderful time with your Mom and SIs.

So, did you get snow?? I read on the forecast, the we are expected to get rain mixed with snow today... not too excited about that possibility **smile**.
{I read the forecast on line, because I cannot bear to watch the 'bad' news anymore...}

We are headed to St. George soon, and I hope we can soak up some sun and warmth there :)

Have a great day!

I'd rather have your weather(s) anytime over the heat we have here. And so EARLY in the spring. It's already been up to 100.

A community clean-up sounds fun. Hope the weather held up......to be continued, right?! Sure wish we could get some moisture. Things aren't looking too good here....we need some rain!

I hope your clean-up didn't get rained out! We have had quite a bit of rain here, too, and more on the way later they say.
I hear you about the state of the world. It's getting downright scary.
If you find that ambition, Barb, please sent me some of it! I have so much to do and want to do in my house, but zero ambition or energy.
Have a nice day with your mother and SIL!

This is such a great post. I love the community service you are doing. What a grand idea it is and then to have a fun time all together in the park. I do hope it doesn't rain too much on you both. Of course, we feel the same about rain; we need it and it is here too.
I hope you have a delightful time with your Mom. Would she use a Wheelchair when you go out. My Mother thought it would be awful; but she finally relinquished toward the last couple of months before she passed away. Enjoy all the precious moments you can with her; even though it is hard to see them slowly getting older and more feeble.
You took some great pictures today and I love the quote. I need Roger to memorize it since he is on the Pessimist. Of course, in today's world I feel like that sometimes too. Especially, after listening to the news.
Sending hugs and love your way dear friend.

WOW....THAT CLOUD SURE LOOKS LIKE IT COULD HAVE BEEN BAD. SMALL COMMUNITIES THAT WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE LIVING GOOD FOR EVERYONE...IS SUCH A WONDERFUL BLESSING TO BE A PART OF. i'M WITH YOU ABOUT THE "NEWS" ...IT IS SO DEPRESSING TO LISTEN TO ALL THAT THEY SHARE. GIRL....WHEN YOU GET YOUR KITCHEN ALL DONE...SHARE THE NEW LOOK WITH US. I NEED A REDO MYSELF. BLESSING BARB.

Ahhh, you're still getting iffy weather, too. Well I hope that you folks have plenty of water. I really like the idea of a community clean-up. Ours certainly needs one once the snow is gone. Getting ready to redo the kitchen? What's your style? Right now, I am bery atgracted to Farmhouse Kitchens, but I've not quite achieved "the look."

That is so great that you helped with the community clean-up. Our town is having a day of service tomorrow so now you have inspired me to get more involved with that! So nice that your mother and sister live close and your can go to lunch together. Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Barb, I think caring and helping clean up in a community is such a great idea! So glad that you and your mom and sister get to enjoy these lunches, time spent together making memories last for a lifetime.
Love the quote so true.
I apologize for taking so long in visiting, I haven't had much time for blogging lately, hopefully that will soon change.
Thanks for sharing your Daybook.
Blessings,
Sue

Happy Spring!
