Oh, The Possibilities!

In my last post, I said that I was making possibility bags for our church youth group.  Well, my granddaughter, came to stay with me for a few days, and on Wednesday, she helped me cut out and sew a few of them.  We were pleased with the way they turned out, and I hope the kids who will be using them will like them as well.  We used old jeans, cut the pocket off the jeans, and sewed it on the front of the bag, for additional storage.

My granddaughter wanted to know what the kids were going to do with the bags, and we started talking about all the "possibilities" of this bag.  First of all, they will keep their bottled water, sunscreen and lip balm in the bag.  It's just the right size for all those personal items that you need, but don't have pockets for.  The girls will be wearing skirts, so no pockets!  I'm sure that the kids will think of other things to put in the bags, just as long as they aren't too heavy.  I am over the 12 year olds, who will not be going on the trek, so I thought it would be fun to have them write words of encouragement to those who will be walking.  We can tuck them into the bags, and they can pull them out and read them along the trail, when they are feeling discouraged, and when the going is hard.

Taylor is such a sweet girl, she loves to serve, and help however she can.  She will not be going on this trek, and in fact doesn't even know these kids, but she was anxious to help, knowing that it would be helping others.  She will be going on a similar trek in next year, so hopefully, "what goes  around,  comes around".

It was a lot of fun sewing and working with Taylor, it's amazing what you can learn spending the day, chatting about silly things, and listening....:0)

Last night she was outside, and came running in to get the camera.  She said that the sunset was so pretty, and wanted to take a picture of it.

She was so right, perfect ending to a perfect day . . .

For some reason, all of the comments on my blog have been removed!  Not sure what is going on with Blogger . . . I have complained... loudly!
