Reunions . . .

A few months ago, we went to a small reunion for my mother's siblings and their children.  It was fun, but kind of sad at the same time.  It's hard to think of your mother getting older, let alone your aunts and uncles!  I don't see them much, and it really hits home when we are all together.

It was a very soggy day the day we went down.  It was the end of September, and the cloud were hanging low in the sky, it had been raining for a few days, and it was just beautiful!  I took these pictures with my phone . . .  out the window, so they aren't very clear, but it was so pretty!

The drive really was gorgeous, my phone pictures certainly don't do the scenery justice.

This is a picture of my mother and her three siblings.  The lighting was terrible, and I only had my phone.  My mom is sitting on the right, her brother, who is 10 years younger, is standing behind her, then next in birth order is her sister who is sitting across from her, and then her little sister, who is 16 years younger, standing next to my uncle.  She was actually more like a sister to us when we were growing up.

This was a good picture, of my aunt and my mom. It was a fun day!

Since these pictures were taken, my aunts husband, the one sitting across from my mother, has passed away, and she has been placed in a retirement center, and my mothers health continues to decline.  I suppose it was a good thing we got together when we did.  Life certainly has a way of marching on doesn't it.  He is the first of my aunts and uncles to pass, and it just seems so strange.  It wont be long until my generation is the oldest . . . how strange.

It seems like I have been away from my blog for such a long time.  I'm not making any promises to myself about keeping up, because time marches on for me as well.

Hugs,
