Since my last post, so much has happened! I'll start with a 4 day road trip we went on for our 40th wedding anniversary, which was delightful! We started in Twin Falls, Idaho, then went to Salmon, Idaho, and ended up in West Yellowstone, Montana. It was so much fun, here are a few highlights of that trip.
Beautiful Shoshone Falls, sometimes called the "Niagara of the West". Shoshone Falls is higher than Niagara Falls. There's not much water coming over the fall right now, but it's still gorgeous! During the peak of run-off, these falls are just amazing!
Then on to, Thousand Springs. where you can see "thousands" of beautiful springs just flowing out of the mountainside along the Snake River, it's so pretty! These two photos are just a few of these gorgeous springs.
This is the spectacular Perrine Bridge, which spans the majestic Snake River Canyon on the northern edge of Twin Falls. It is 1,500 feet long and 486 feet above the Snake River. Base jumping is a popular sport here...yikes! This the same canyon that Evel Knievel attempted to jump across in 1974.
From the rim, you can look out over the golf course that is on the canyon floor, this picture does not do it justice!
This geographic anomaly is called, Balanced Rock. It is just outside of Twin Falls, it's 40 feet high, shaped like a camel’s head, and balances on a teeny tiny perch measuring just a few feet across. in the first photo, you can see people hiking up to get a better look!
Then on to the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains!
Enough for one day - more to come!
