Christmas can't be very far away . . .

We celebrated our Christmas just a bit early this year.  Saturday, was a time that we could all get together as a family, so we just opened presents, made the usual Christmas gift wrapping mess, and enjoyed each others company!

I loved hearing my grandchildren read from Luke 2.  I loved seeing the looks on the children's faces when they open their gifts.  I loved watching my mother open her gifts with enthusiasm!!  I loved that the babies loved the wrapping paper and the boxes better than what was inside!!  But,  what I love more than anything, is the way that it feels when we are all together.   We had such a fun night . . . Merry Christmas . . . almost!

Love is like the Polar Star.  In a changing world, it is a constant.  It is of the very essence of the gospel.  It is the security of the home.  It is the safeguard of community life.  It is a beacon of hope in a world of distress.

Barb, that is beautiful! Being together as a family is the best Christmas gift of all (not including the baby Jesus of course!). Merry Christmas!

We have had one Christmas, too, so I am grinning reading here about the grandchildren and your mother opening their gifts. Hope that you saved some gifts aside for another Christmas on Christmas Day. Keep the joy going!
