Sum, Sum, Summer Time . . .

I feel like I have been out of the loop for such a long time!  Like everyone else, summer time is such a busy time of year for me!   It seems like I  just want to -"drink in" -  these beautiful summer days.  I know it has been sweltering in other parts of the country, but, here in Idaho, it has been fairly mild, very cool evenings and lovely warm days, only getting into the high 70's.  Today was the warmest it has been in a while, my thermometer reached about 86 degrees this afternoon.

I feel like since we have gotten my mother settled into her new place, I can settle down and start concentrating on getting myself organized.  She is so happy where she is at - the change is amazing.  We feel very blessed!

On Mother's Day, Amber gave me a beautiful Amaryllis, one of my favorite flowers.  One of them just bloomed, and it is so beautiful . . . I love to watch them change day by day, what a great way to start my summer.

The Forth of July . . . always a fun time, with family, good food and fireworks!

Getting this crew to sit still wasn't very easy!  Gotta love the bare feet!

Caleb's arm was moving so fast, I couldn't even catch it on camera!

Sparklers, just are not what they used to be . . . remember writing your name with sparklers?

A few pictures of our little firework show!  We had such a great time. . . it ended way too soon!

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day, I called my husband and told him that we were going on a picnic after he got home from work, his day had been stressful, so he was ready for a break! I packed the cooler with,  turkey, ham and bacon wraps, and watermelon.  I also made mint iced tea, one of my favorite summer drinks - I just cut mint, crush it slightly and put it into a large jar.  Sometimes I pour boiling water over it, but today I just put cold water over it and let it sit in the sun . . . then we headed for the hills!

The beautiful Tetons, from the Idaho side!

Thank goodness for four-wheel drive!!

I love sheep - aren't they adorable!

The sunset was beautiful!  I feel so blessed to live so close to some of Heavenly Father's most beautiful creations . . . I always think of the words to the song, "How Great Thou Art" when I am in the hills . . .

When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
I hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;

Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!

Warm hugs and blessings,

My favorite hymn, Barbara. My eyes always fill with tears when I hear and sing that song. How people can see the beauty and magnificence of God all around us and not believe in Him, I do not understand.

What a lovely day in Idaho. It is SO beautiful up there, and you got some great shots.

I see you got your bench painted - & decorated it with wiggly little ones - what a great sense of decor you have ! So cute!

Mint ice tea -- yum! I'm going to have to try that. So you just steep the mint in water, just like you do with tea bags for regular sun tea? No tea leaves or bags added? I make a mint iced tea that I love, but it involves tea bags and lots of sugar -- which is probably why I love it ;)

Barb, you made an interesting point, on my topic of comments...

"I used to try to reply to all my comments, but I found that people never saw the replies . . . because they only looked at that particular post once."

And that is why I don't usually make any comment reply, in my own comments. I go to the commenter's blog and answer questions, etc, there. I feel the same way. I don't run back to a person's older posts, after reading them, even if I asked a question. So I figure, others don't either.

Now as to just commenting in someone's blog, who comments in mine...... When I make my first comment, I often say a 'Thank you for your comment in my blog.' Then they know why I stopped by, if I've never been there before.

As to regular commenters in my blog, they know me! When I leave comments in their blog. :-)))))))

Dear Barb, It's so wonderful that you have lost that weight. Wonderful! I'm sure you feel better.

And I'm sure you'll feel better, after having your gall bladder out on Thurs. Best of luck!

My husband and I had it done, the old fashioned way [larrrrrrrrge incision] quite a while ago. You'll have the laproscopy and it will be so much easier a recovery.

Lots and lots of gentle hugs...
