Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY  June 2, 2010

Outside my window...   It's windy, cloudy, cold and really quite depressing today.  We have only had a handful of warm days this year - Spring - Summer . . where are you?

I am thinking... That I need more sleep!!  I'm just one of those people who need 8 hours of sleep at night and I only got maybe 3 hours?!?!?!

I am thankful for... Music - it is my therapy!

From the learning rooms... In the past few weeks, I have learned that I am stronger, physically than I thought I was.  I have also learned that I have more patience than I thought I had . . . enough said . . .

From the kitchen... I think I will bake chicken today.  It's always nice to have good smells coming from the oven on days like this.

I am wearing... Jeans and a t-shirt - barefoot, but thinking about shoes, at least Birks.

I am creating... A mess!  I have not had a chance to really clean my house since the wedding.  It seems like I have been running a  million miles an hour!  I need to settle down and concentrate on getting a few things done around my house.  I would love to sew some cute things for my grandkids.  My sister and I thought about making quilts with the boxes, and boxes, of fabric from my mother's home - she must have been collecting  it!

I am going... To stay home today - I think my daughter and her two kids are coming to visit today - she's always fun to have around and I love to squeeze my sweet little grandkids.

I am reading... Still reading about Darby's Girls Camp - I have been enjoying it so much, but the only time I have to read is in the evening, so I don't make much progress!

I am hoping... That Averi, my sweet little granddaughter,  does not have chicken pox!

I am hearing... Johnny Horton singing, "Whispering Pines".  I know, it's an old song, but I love old songs.

Around the house...  Cole, the dog is barking, the neighbor across the road is mowing his lawn, the wind is blowing through the pine trees, and the horses are sneaking a peek at a new colt at the end of the pasture.  Even though I complain about the weather and not having enough time, things are actually very peaceful.  Life just keeps rolling along. . . God is very good to me, I feel very  blessed.

One of my favorite things... Skinny Cow icecream!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

I have a, Daughters of Utah Pioneers luncheon tomorrow.
Friday, we will probably try to get the garden tilled - maybe even get my tomatoes planted!
Who knows what the week-end will hold!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

No thought, this picture just reminds me of Summer . . . and daydreaming.

Oh I hope so too. But is that one of those things, which we have to have, when young? Or not? Is there a vaccine? I really don't remember.

I had it in HS, which was toooooo late. But I didn't have Mumps till I was a Mother, with 3 kids in school. Yish.......

I love to read about your day. You are such a uplift. I too am worried about Averi having Chicken Pox; that isn't fair. I think you have had a lot on your plate; so you need a day or two of rest.
Love to you! LeAnn

I love your daybook. I got out and mowed the lawn this morning. I am so sore. You would think after all the work we have done, I wouldn't be sore. Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed the day to myself, even if I was mowing. It did me a lot of good. I hope Averi doesn't have those nasty chicken pox too. Get some sleep. I love you.

Oh for some sunshine! (I turned on the furnace this morning.)

Poor Averi. I do hope that it isn't the chicken pox.

Hope you can get some rest, then everything else that needs to get done won't seem such a huge job.

Hi Barb,
I enjoyed reading your Daybook. I will pray that Averi will not have the chicken pox, and you will soon have some warm weather, as it has been a cold winter.
HUgs,
Sue
