Simple Woman's Daybook . . . .

FOR TODAY - 5/11/2010

Outside my window... Raining, again.  I know I should be grateful for the moisture that we are getting, but, I'm really tired of being cold, I need the sun to shine and warm me up - just for a few minutes!!  Now, really, is that asking too much?

I am thinking... about all of the decisions that still need to be made before the wedding!  It's l less than two weeks away now, and I still have so much to do.  I did find a dress . . . . I actually had one, but it resembled a moo- moo, so I decided it probably would not be appropriate.  So.......... I know have a nice off-white jacket with three large black buttons down the front and an off-white and black, multi-print skirt.  I will tie the whole outfit together with very tight fitting pantyhose, preferably those with a VERY firm girdle, and black, heels with a little peek-a-boo toe.  I'm hoping to get my toenails painted a very bright color by then!!  Wow, I think this may be coming together?!

I am thankful for...  All of the blessings from my Father in Heaven.  Besides the wedding, we have been having so many other problems with family members.  I can't think of anything more difficult than having someone else tell me what I can and can't do with my money!  But there are cases where it becomes necessary, not because of the person you are trying to help out, but because of the person who is trying to take advantage of that person!!  Praying has helped . . . if not the two people in crisis, but those of us who have to make the hard decisions.  We are indeed loved and watched over.

I'm also thankful for good Tailor's who can take in a suit for a man shaped like an upside down triangle!  My hubby is one of those men who has very wide shoulders and very narrow hips -almost impossible to fit a suit, he always wears jackets and dress pants!  But we found someone who will order the suit coat and pants separate, and then take them in or alter them as needed!!!

From the learning rooms... I learned just yesterday, that not all Taco Times are created equal!  I wanted a Street Taco (delish!) from Taco Time.  When I got to my daughter's town, their Taco Time did not have them!!  The nerve!!  They are so good, and only 7 Weight Watcher points.  They are made of 4 small corn tortillas, heated not fried, roast pork and fresh salsa, not sour cream and no cheese - Very good!

From the kitchen... It's going to be another night of "Dinner, what's dinner?".  We always think of something - hopefully a healthy something, I would really like to have soup, so that is something easy to whip up at the last minute.

I am wearing... Jeans, a brown fleese top, socks (amazing) Birkenstocks.   I know - socks and Birkenstocks . . . . what can I say, I like to wear them that way!

I am creating... I will be creating the centerpieces for the rehearsal dinner.  I have a wonderful sister who has had lots of experience at this kind of thing - three daughters married within a couple of years!  So, I will be going through what she has and putting together something cute for the tables.  I also need to create a few CD's of romantic music to play at the dinner.

I am going...with my mother and sister - it's Tuesday!  We have issues today - not going to be as fun as normal I'm afraid.  But love keeps us going!!

I am reading...my scriptures, and praying I will be guided to just the right chapter and verse.  Can you tell I need some comfort?  Can't think of a better place to get it.

I am hoping...That we have a good day today :O)

I am hearing...The Platters singing Twilight Time . . . . beautiful.

Around the house... I got my dishes done and a few things folded and put away this morning.  I will be gone most of the day, so Cole will have to do the rest!! (Cole is a dog hehe!)

One of my favorite things... Toasted Marshmellow sugar free Italian Sodas, with no cream - enough said!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Today - Mom and Sis day
Wednesday - haircut
Thursday -  bridal shower for our sweet, soon to be daughter!
Friday - dinner with bride and groom and soon to be in-laws.
Also weigh-in - Yikes!!!!  Last week I did so good, I'm very scared of this week! (25 lbs. so far!)
Saturday - Yard work, I hope the weather will let us at least rototill the garden.
Sunday - Relax, go to church and try to get my cup filled for the following week!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

go here to find more hope.

Have a wonderful day!

We have had rain again, too! Too much. Hope you have a good outing with your mother and sister. And also hope that your other family problems get resolved. We have sure had our share of problems with a sister-in-law, so I know how troubling it can be.

You are one busy lady! I can't think of anything that helps more than prayer and good music. The Platters...good choice! Love that song.

Your daughter in the previous post is so pretty! Hope she had a wonderful birthday.

Take care,
Cheryl

Hi Barb,
Our weather here has been rainy and cold too, though today is sunny, and windy. I keep thinking I need to get my spring/summer clothes out, but I'm still too cold for them!

The Bible and prayer is the best source for comfort. Family problems can make life difficult. I hope your day with your mother and sister is nice.

I'm having trouble deciding what to fix for dinners this week...usually I try to have things planned out, but not this week.

Have a blessed day! :)

Hope everything goes well!! The scriptures are a very good place to find answers! I just read a book called What the Scriptures Teach Us About Raising a Child! Very insightful and make me look at the scriptures in a whole new light. I know that was totally off point, but I'm kind of random like that! hehe. Love you!

I agree about needing warmer, sunshiney weather, although we actually need the rain. Maybe with all this rain, God is telling us to stay inside and dig deeper into the scriptures (in regards to your comment on my site). Hope you have a great week!

Hope your "family issues" worked out well. Just keep thinking of all the fun of the coming wedding. And all the hassles tooo of course, but nothing ever runs totally smoothly, now does it?

Gentle hugs...

Happy Spring!
