The Last Two . . .

Well, I think I've found all of the old artwork that I dare show you.  These two are tattered and torn, I don't know if it was the paper, or just that they have been neglected for so many years.

The first one is a Crow Warrior, done in pen and ink - one of my favorite mediums to use.  The paper was kind of a parchment type of paper, no wonder it did not hold up as well as the others.

Can you tell I LOVE to create the dramatic look of the American Indian . . . . so regal and brave!

This one is a Shoshone Chief, also done in pen and ink . . . on the same kind of paper!  I think I can actually iron the paper to smooth it out.

This will not be the last of my artwork.  I will pursue this talent - it's not the end.

"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me."
 Erma Bombeck
Warm hugs sweet friends,

  1. These are great. I really like the first one. I have an art book by Grace Carpenter Hudson, called "The Painter Lady". It is of the Pomo Indians in Northern California. There are some wonderful paintings in it. I lived in that area so I was able to get it, I don't know if it is available elsewhere or if the library would have it, but it's a wonderful book of art. Art use to be one of my hobbies. I have several art books and art prints. Follow your insiration. Linda

  2. Barb - you are SO talented, girl! I love your Indians - I always read Indian stories growing up, and I was a huge tomboy - I always was running around with feathers in my hair and my moccasins and my bow and arrows. I did NOT want to be a girl! I wanted to be an Indian!

Your artwork is SO good. You MUST get back to that. I love your quote by Erma Bombeck. Perhaps you and I can inspire each other. I get too busy to get my artwork and paints out, but I don't want to waste this talent that the Lord gave me.

I loved doing pen/ink myself. Haven't done it in quite awhile. Moved into watercolor and oils. You and I should hold each other accountable and make sure we continue creating!
I'm glad you shared these and the other things that you've done!!!

  3. Those are so beautiful!! You really do have an amazing talent.
I am so excited to hear about Chris!!!!! How fun! Love, Laura

  4. Barb, your drawings are truly beautiful! What an amazing God-given talent you have. And I do hope that you keep creating more treasures. I used to dabble a bit in art, mainly tole painting. I always thought I might take up oils when I have more time, if I can tear myself away from this computer!

Have fun on your girl's day out! Let us know how it was.

    Have a good day,

  5. barb, that erma quote put an arrow right into my heart. sometimes i just don't have the motivation to USE up any and all talent. thanks for the *push*

    beautiful, beautiful art work. WOW-WEE.

  6. I absolutely love the first one!!!!!!!

Do some thing with it. But don't hurt it. Please...

  7. How beautiful Barb!!! The Lord has definitely blessed you with the gift of Art. Amazing! I also like to use pen & ink but haven't in years. I really need to start up again. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks for visiting and leaving encouraging comments.

Have a blessed day in Him!

  8. Barb, I just wanted to clarify the "art was an interest". What I meant was I loved art and was interested in art and artist, but I'm not an artist myself. I tried a few times to paint and as I said sketch and I think if I had kept up with it I would have improved, but I didn't have the natural talent I can see you have.

  9. A great quote! Your artwork is beautiful Barb! You have a lot of talent. Thank you so much for sharing all your artwork. I've enjoyed seeing it.

Your comments bless my day and make me smile, thank you for stopping by!
