Thoughtful Spot Sunday . . .

In church today, we talked about friends and what a treasure they are in our lives.  How each one brings a different kind of spice and joy to our life; the teacher likened them to cookies!

~Cookies And Friends~

They come in all shapes and sizes:
Some are soft and sugar coated,
Some are snappy and full of ginger,
And some are just plain nutty!!
We can treat ourselves to many different kinds,
And there is always room for one more!

The Savior of the world also spoke of treasures. In His Sermon on the Mount He declared:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
(Matthew 6: 19-21)

To all my friends, know that you are always in my heart - you are my treasures!

I want to leave you with a wonderful cookie recipe - when you eat one, think of me, because I'll be thinking of you!

Angel Cookies
1/2 cup raisins                                   1 cup water
1 cup butter or shortening                 1 tsp soda
2 eggs                                                1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sugar                                3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla

Sugar mixture:  1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tbls cinnamon

Boil raisins in water until water is absorbed; let cool.  Cream shortening, eggs and sugar.  Mix in dry ingredients; add raisins.  Form into balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 min.

Have a very blessed Sunday.

Warm Hugs,
