The Simple Women's Daybook . . .

I love doing the Simple Woman's Daybook - it really makes me think about my life.  Go check out what others are thinking and doing at:

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...  It's cold, 26 degrees,  but . . . it's going to be at least 50 degrees here today!  The sun in shining, the sky is blue, and I'm a happy woman!!

I am thinking...That I need to be careful and stick to my diet today when I go to lunch with my sister and mom.  I've been good, 13 pounds so far, but I need to really watch myself, with all the birthdays, it's been hard.

I am thankful for...a husband who works so hard.  My husband has always been a hard worker, and I so appreciate that.  His work has not always been fun or easy, and I don't tell him often enough what a great provider he is.

From the kitchen...I am going to put chicken tenders in the crockpot before I leave the house this morning.  I think I'll put Italian dressing on them and let them cook all day, yum!  We will have them with a baked potato and a green salad for supper.

I am wearing...I just seem to wear the same old thing everyday, don't you?  So, today, I'm wearing brown jeans, and an off-white sweater (my blue jeans are getting too big!).

I am creating...a journal, filled with pictures of lighting, floor covering, tile and paint.  We need to replace the lights in the kitchen, and, we are still working on the downstairs bathroom.  But, I'm going to be picky and frugal.  I want to spend the least amount of money and get the things I want - I can do it!

I am going...to lunch with my sister and mother . . . I love this day!

I am reading...The Lovely Bones - all I can say is . . . you have to read this book!!!  It is a real chiller, not really scary, even though it's about a ghost.  It's more of a mystery, you'll love it if you like mysteries.

I am hoping...That Cole, my son's dog, will be okay while I'm gone today.  It's been a while since he has stayed with me.  I'm taking care of him this week while my son is working out of town.  He's a beautiful dog, a Black Lab, we love him.

I am hearing...my playlist - George Jones is singing, "Worried Man Blues", that song has been my anthem a few times in my life!

Around the house...I won't get much done today, but yesterday, I was pretty productive.  I just love it when my house is clean!

One of my favorite things
...speaking of clean houses, one of my favorite things to clean with is Murphy's Oil Soap.  I love the way it smells, and it cleans really well.  It's a natural soap so I like that too.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Tomorrow it's Caleb's birthday, so we are going to his birthday party!  He's such a big boy, 2 years old!!

Weigh in on Friday.

I'm really going to try to work on my genealogy - it's been bothering me that I haven't been as diligent as I should be - I should at least be working on it!!  All I'm going to do this week is sort it out . . . again . . . and try to get some things written down and updated.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

I took this picture last April when we were on the West Coast.   It was so beautiful!

"May your joys be as deep as the ocean, your sorrows as light as its foam.”

Hugs and Blessings,

Great Daybook entry! Beautiful picture! What do you clean with the Murphy's Oil Soap? I've used it on cabinet doors before but that is it. I love putting Italian dressing on chicken....yummo! I usually marinate mine overnight. I've never thought about throwing it in the crockpot! Smart!

I love to read your daybook. I should do that. I don't seem to express myself in anyway lately. I love our Tuesdays. They are so fun and I feel we got so much done yesterday. Thank you for sharing. I love you so much.

13 pounds! Congratulations. I've lost only 2 but it's only been about 2 1/2 weeks.

I did read the Lovely Bones. I liked it. I'm looking forward to seeing the dvd when it comes out.

W.O.W. what a beautiful picture of the coast, Barb! Wish I could wiggle my nose and open my eyes and find myself there just like Bewitched!

I'm so envious of you losing weight. I say every morning that today will be different and I wind up being the same old snacky self. Good for you!

I always love to read people's day journals. They are so interesting, and knowing what people are doing daily in their lives makes me feel right at home. Sometimes I read and I think people are getting way more done, or having such fun, or their lives are without toil and trouble. But the journals are great cuz then I feel normal again (is that funny to hear me think of myself as normal after my gopher post???). Somebody left me a post that said "normalcy is overrated".

anyway, have a wonderful day, Barb! Aren't Labs great!

Happy Spring!

Outside my window . . .  Two weeks ago this is what it looked like.  We had a  huge winter storm, and got 12 inches of new snow!  It was c...
