Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It has been raining and snowing and hailing all day! The wind has been blowing so hard . . .  and it's cold, and I'm ready for sunshine!

I am thinking... That this is a strange time of day to be posting the Simple Woman's Daybook. I spent most of the day with my mother and sister and when I got home, we left to go to my sweet little granddaughter's 4th birthday party.  So, here I am posting at 11:15 p.m.

I am thankful for... My warm house! It was so cold when we left my daughter's house and I hate going out into the dark when it's  cold  and the wind is blowing ~ it give me the heebe jeebies! But, I love it when the car gets all warm and cozy, then I hate to get out!

From the learning rooms... I learned today, that my mother feels the same way I do about things that I thought we disagreed on . . . hummmmm.

From the kitchen... We did pizza tonight! I actually picked it up on the way to my daughter's house and we ate in the car, on the go pizza! It was yummy ~ but I was careful and only had 2 small pieces . . . dieting.

I am wearing... Jeans and an off white t-shirt and warm socks, can you believe it, I'm not barefoot!

I am creating... Nothing really, I do have a couple of bags of plastic Easter eggs that need to be filled with candy . . . maybe tomorrow.

I am going... To go to bed, right shortly. . . as my husband would say.

I am reading... Still trying to get through, The Lovely bones ~ for some reason it's kind of slow for me. I know that everyone else has loved it, but I'm not feelin' the love. I will just have to keep reading it though, I'm not a quiter.

I am hoping... That it will warm up so I can get out into my yard and get some things done. I also hope that Easter is a warm day, I don't think that is in the forecast, but it would be nice. Also hoping that my oldest daughter and her family got to Utah safely today. We will miss them for Easter this year :O(

I am hearing... Soft music from my blog, Coal (the dog) trying to get comfortable at my feet and the sound of silence in my house.

Around the house... Nothing got done today, I made the bed and left . . .

One of my favorite things... Is the smell of the rain, washing away the dirty left-over snow. Spring will get here . . . really, it will!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

* Spend
the day with Jessica and kids tomorrow.
* Plan Easter menu.
* Fill Easter eggs . . . maybe even dye some, I love to do that - my husband loves it more!
* I would love to get my hair cut!
* Finish up a little house cleaning.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

No need for journeying,
Seeking afar:
Where there are flowers,
There fairies are.

Goodnight all.

Warm Spring Blessings and Hugs,

Hi Barb,
I enjoyed reading your daybook. Sounds like a busy week. Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!

I'm running slow this morning. I couldn't sleep last night, so got up late. My house needs to be cleaned, but I'm lacking motovation. Once I eat breakfast...I'm sure I'll be ready to go.... Have a lovely day. :o)

Susan - Good to see you, thanks for stopping! I know what you mean about not being able to sleep, it sure does make for short mornings - breakfast always makes me feel better and have more ambition, especially if I add a little protein, like eggs or peanut butter - hope your day gets better.

I also hope you have a wonderful Easter filled with blessings!

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barb,
I so enjoyed reading your daybook.
I am feeling a little guilty about enjoying this very warm weather while you are still having snow, and I pray that you will have warm sunshine for Easter Sunday.
I had to laugh when you said that you found out you and your Mother agree about the same things, know what you mean, Could it be we are catching up with them? I have found that my Mother is one of the smartest people in the world. Does that make me smart too. LOL
Thanks for sharing,
Have a blessed Easter,
Hugs,
Sue

Isn't it odd that it took all these years for you to find out you and your mother agree on those topics you thought you didn't. We are all in transition. Blessings.

Sue - Good to see you! I'm so glad that someone is getting the warm weather, I know that you will enjoy it! Isn't it funny that we had to wait all these years to find out that we don't have to agree to disagree?! She is a wonderful and smart woman - I love her!

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter!

Warm hugs right back,
Barb

Happy Spring!
