I finally got Caleb's puppy finished! He really did turn out to be a cute little guy. I just love how they each have such individual little expressions. If you did not get the link to Martha Stewart, here it is http://www.marthastewart.com/article/glove-animals . She has a really good tutorial on how to make the glove pets. These little friends really are easy to make, I would say that the hardest part is getting the head stuffed just right, and making sure that you turn them inside out before sewing up the seams! I know that from experience, and 3 wasted gloves!
You can put as much embellishment on these little pets as you want. With this puppy, I considered embroidering his eyes, nose, and belly button, just so that Caleb could not get them off - The buttons really are a chocking hazard for really small children. On this puppy's eyes, I went back and forth, from button to button, right through the head, so that they would be harder to get off. I would maybe use felt and do a blanket stitch around the edges for children under 2 years.
What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails

Cindy - So good to see you! Caleb will love it! I'm not the best seamstress, I think you could probably give me a few tips, but crafting is fun! We still need to get together and compare notes on families, e-mail me sometime, when you have time, ok. Still keeping my eye open for patterns! Hugs, Barb
