White and Fluffy . . .

View from my front door

I love the snow!!!  I know, some of  my readers from the East Coast are probably thinking I'm crazy, but here in the West, where I live, we depend on the snow to fill up the reservoirs for irrigation water in the summer.  We have only had a few inches of snow, at least here in the valley, all year, so this was a very pleasant surprise for us.  I love the softness that it gives my day; it's always a little more quite and serene outside, not as many cars go down the road.

I'm feeling a little better today, so maybe I can potter around and get a few things done.  I have a few things on my list - cut out pajama bottoms for Christian, organize one of my sewing drawers, put a roast in the oven, read my Tasha Tudor cookbook (again) that I got for Christmas, spend time with hubby while he still has a few days off of work, or maybe just sit and look out the window at the snow!  That should take up most of my day, don't you think?

Throughout the afternoon I watched them there,
Snow-fairies falling, falling from the sky,
Whirling fantastic in the misty air. . .

Have a wonderful white day, Barb

The picture is beautiful from your front door. I wish I had that view, but mine will do. I can dream. Heather, Ricky and Kyle just landed in SLC. I can't wait to hear from them. I have been checking the roads. It says Idaho is difficult and Utah is ok. They have good studded tires, so they will be fine. I will be fine as soon as they get home. I am like you, I love the feeling I get when it is snowing outside. Beautiful, calming, content.
Glad you are feeling better. Love you.

That picture of your yard looks like a postcard! Snow is so calming. It almost has a sound when it snows, but when I think of what it is, it's almost like the absence of sound. Like non-existent tinkling. I can't describe it, but I think you and I feel the same way about it!

Happy Spring!

Outside my window . . .  Two weeks ago this is what it looked like.  We had a  huge winter storm, and got 12 inches of new snow!  It was c...
